Fans were warned by one commentator: ‘‘Don’t watch, just listen’’ to her latest track, Get Em Girls. Sony music was accused of trying to shut down debate on the single by closing the icon to vote whether you li- ked or disliked the film. The first single from her forthcoming album of the same name features the Territory songbird strutting the catwalk showing off her heels in an array of fashions, with caked-on make-up and low lighting. She is later joined by Snoop Dogg for a cameo some have described as ‘‘hy- persexual’’ and ‘‘sleazy’’. Within five days of being posted online, there have been about 300 comments on YouTube about the clip. And the comments continued on ntnews.com.au yesterday. Heather of Darwin said the song had set a dangerous precedent. ‘‘Worse than the un- comfortable ogling that Snoop gives her is a host of awful messages this song gives to young people,’’ she wrote. ‘‘The whole song is a celebration of materialism, fame, conformity, objectifi- cation of women and a sad reflection on the shallow, cheap and degrading state of popular music.’’ Meanwhile, grum- pyoldfart of Darwin said there was nothing wrong with the video. ‘‘(Compared to) some of the crap that so called enter- tainers put out this is mild,’’ he said, ‘‘Go Jess.’’ And Stevo of Melbourne suggested the unsavoury commentary was a case of ‘‘tall poppy syndrome’’. Mauboy told ConfideNTial on the orange carpet of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Sydney on Friday that she was excited about releasing the clip. ‘‘I am excited just to hear what people will say. That is entertainment for me. I want to hear what people think.’’ Mauboy said the album, Get Em Girls, was ready to be released. Sony music declined to comment. Broncos playing away Israel Folau By TRISTAN SWANWICK and DANIEL BOURCHIER BRISBANE Broncos players have made the most of their off-season celebrat- ions by taking in one of Darwin’s most debau- cherous weekly parties. ConfideNTial spies have revealed players were cheering along during ‘‘Tits Out Tuesday’’ at the Lost Arc this week. Corey Par- ker, Darren Lockyer, And- rew McCul- lough, Ashton Sims, Josh Hoffman, Corey Norman, AFL defec- tor Israel Folau and Peter Wallis — with his arm in a sling — also watched some of the microphone-lovers at a raucous karaoke sess- ion at Shenannigans on Monday night. A ConfideNTial source revealed the group were ‘‘pissed, but well-behaved’’ as they watched on and checked out the local ladies. Australian football con- vert Israel Folau reportedly caught the eye of one such lady and the pair looked ‘‘chummy’’ said our source. Things were presumably a bit rowdier the next even- ing when the boys hit Dar- win’s Discovery and Lost Arc nightclubs for the infa- mous flesh fest ‘‘T.O.T Beach Party’’. Brazen theft in 15 minutes OPPORTUNISTIC thieves fled with $90,000 worth of surveying equipment left unguarded for only 15 minutes. Police believe the crimi- nals loaded the gear into a vehicle and drove off. Surveyors were working on a subdivision when they left the cases of equipment on the corner of Heffernan Rd and Colonel Rose Drv in Alice Springs about 3pm on Tuesday. They returned a quarter of an hour later to find the gear gone.
