Any individual that is growing or gardening in small/urbanspaces in Providence County, RI. Past participants have includedcommunity garden leaders, small business owners, employeesof farming and gardening organizations, and farmers who growprimarily for their own families.Any individual who has the excitement and commitment to learn,get involved in the community, and advance their growing skills.

NRICD and its partner organizations are pleased to announce the2020 Urban Growers Leadership Program, a farm tour series ofleaders in urban growing in Providence County, Rhode Island. TheUrban Growers Leadership Program supports urban growers whoare enthusiastic about advancing not only their individualknowledge, but also their community’s capacity to grow food insmall spaces.

The program is completely for the benefit of the participants! Thetopic and emphasis of each farm tour is based on eachparticipant’s needs and interests. Each participant’s availability willbe taken into account when scheduling events to the greatestextent possible.

Each participant will also be matched with a partner organizationto participate in a skill-share program to guide their learning andgrowing over the duration of the program.

COVID-19 PROGRAMSAFETY:

NRICD and partners will follow theCOVID-19 safety guidelines inplace by the State of Rhode Islandthroughout this project. If NRICDand partners are unable to host thefarm tours in-person, there will beremote farm tours for theparticipants based on thecomfortability and safety ofeveryone.

schedule the Farm Tour series. Tours will be scheduled so that the greatest number of

participants can attend, but we cannot guarantee that every event will meet every person’s

scheduling requirements. Please note, this General Availability Form will not be used as part of

the participant selection process. We are sending them now so that tours can be scheduled
