On this special day, we will invite Mr. Hiroyoshi Miyamoto, a Global Ambassador for Suntory, and serve six kinds of whiskies, including their signature brands: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Hibiki. Some of these will be of vintages almost unobtainable elsewhere. The afternoon tea plate for this course includes PIERRE HERMÉ PARIS’s macarons and scones among other carefully selected ingredients, to create the image of a starry sky. Savory dishes, such as sandwiches and salad, are also served alongside ingredients like lobster, wagyu roast beef and smoked salmon, to invoke images of the moon, planets and shooting stars. Attention is paid to every detail with regard to textures and aroma.
This is a course that perfectly represents Japan’s late-summer to early-autumn season, offering tempura of typical seasonal ingredients, such as matsutake mushrooms. The interesting feature of this menu is the pairing of items: matsutake mushrooms and truffles, and two kinds of wagyu beef from Kyoto and Kobe. Enjoy this gourmet experience through a comparison of flavors and areas of production.
Guaranteed to tantalise your taste buds, the special collaboration dinner by Michelin Star Chef Elrant Gorostiza and our La Locanda Chef Katsuhito Inoue, creates the ultimate marriage of Basque and Italian cuisine. The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto is proud to announce it has invited Mayumi Ogata, a real “cacao hunter,” for a special two-day event. Through her organization, CACAO HUNTERS, she has been actively engaged in cacao-related endeavors, such as improvements in the quality of cacao and assistance to cacao farmers. On Day One, there will be a cooking seminar and demonstration by a chef from PIERRE HERMÉ PARIS, along with a talk by Ms. Ogata, on her experiences in Colombia and the world of cacao in general. On Day Two, participants will be offered the opportunity to taste PIERRE HERMÉ’s cakes and chocolates during a show featuring very rare varieties of cacao at The Lobby Lounge. Please join us for this very special two-day event featuring a collaboration between a Japan’s own true cacao hunter and a world-class chocolatier.

In Japan, traditionally on the 100th or 120th day following the birth, families celebrate a baby’s first solid meal. At Mizuki, we will ensure that families will truly cherish this special occasion, with hopes and wishes for the baby’s healthy growth, good fortune and enjoyment of food throughout their lives.
For this set menu, an excellent variety of beef from Hirai Farm in the Tamba region of Kyoto will be presented, a variety that has been drawing great attention in recent times. The cows from which the meat is derived are grazing in Nantan City, once selected as one of the 100 best locations for natural water in Japan. Livestock here are raised on this delicious water and amidst an abundance of nature. Enjoy this richly- flavoured yet light-tasting beef of Kyoto.

Ronnefeldt is a long-established German tea maker, whose products are served at many 5-star hotels all over the world. On this special occasion, we have invited Mr. Naoki Mori, one of very few Ronnefeldt’s Gold Tea Masters, to hold a tea seminar. The seminar involves a series of three sessions. If you participate in all three, you will receive a binder exclusive to Ronnefeldt. The first session is designed for the beginner, including tips on how to prepare tea and conduct a tea tasting. A tea-pairing dinner will also be served to allow for a deeper appreciation of the world of tea.

This “Natural Face Lift” focuses on a facial lift and anti-ageing and is offered exclusively at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto.Inspired by Japan’s kobido, the massage will relax the tension in muscles, and give the entire face a firm and refreshing feel and look using a variety of techniques, such as tapping and pulling up. A jade roller is also used to alleviate swelling and remove waste matter from the skin. The lifting mask is very effective in tightening the skin with its cool touch and refreshing spearmint base.
