Kym’s Korner Next Monday, 23rd of November, the Wellcamp Airport Wellcamp Airport Wellcamp Airport Wellcamp Airport is celebrating for the first time in regional Australia and the first time in Queensland a Cathay Pacific 747-800F Cargo aircraft landing. The plane will upload freight and then depart on a direct international flight to Hong Kong. This flight will be exporting fresh produce from the Darling Downs directly into Asia. The plane will depart at approximately 4.35pm and I encourage families to go out to the airport to have a look. We are almost at the end of the term but it is still important that all students attend school every day until the end of term on the 11th of December. Not only is attendance at school a legal requirement, but being at school helps students to achieve more and builds social and emotional skills such as communication, teamwork and resilience. She is very excited and we wish her all the best. Jess Duncan has now been transferred into Wellcamp as a permanent teacher. She’s been doing a fantastic job this year and we are all very excited to have her continue as a Wellcamp staff member. Cherie McDonald will be continuing in her role as special education teacher and Kristy Aitken in her role as learning support teacher. Wellcamp Interhouse Swimming Carnival
Our annual Interhouse Swimming Carnival will be held at the Concordia Aquatic Centre on Wednesday afternoon, 25th November from
1.00pm sharp. We have hired a bus to transport students to this event, which will leave Wellcamp at 12.30pm. As we are welcoming all families to come along and cheer, we have not organised a
bus for after the carnival.
Can all parents please ensure they collect their children from Concordia Aquatic Centre
by 3.00pm. (Possibly earlier, depending on carnival time)
There will be events relevant to all types of swim-ming abilities. Students will be nominated in
events as per our swimming instructors. This event is part of our curriculum and all students
are expected to attend.

held on Sunday, 6th December from 4.30pm at the Westbrook
Hall. Can all students please ar-rive by 4.10pm. All children have roles in the concert, if you will not be attending please let the teach-ers know by the end of this week so their parts can be reassigned.
Entry will be gold coin donation. The concert will be followed by the Seniors Graduation and a BBQ. Students will receive a prize book from Santa and the
raffle will be drawn.

Break Up Day—Friday, 11th December : Highfields Aquatic Centre—O’Briens Rd : 10am—2pm Families must make their own arrangements to and from Highfields. Older and younger family members are wel-come, provided a parent is in attendance at all times. Students will need to wear sun shirts sunscreen and hats.
Wellcamp students will not be required to pay an entry fee, as money that has been raised during the year from paper recycling will be used. Parents and other children are required to pay the relevant admission price.
Please let us know if your child/ren will not be attending.
Have you sent back your catering estimate and family volunteer form? It is really helpful for you to give us an idea of the amount of food that you expect to be buying at the End of Year Concert to avoid people missing out.
And remember, each family will be assigned a job for the concert so let us know what you would feel most comfortable doing by �lling out the volunteer section at the bottom of the form.
Donations for the epic multi-draw raffle are still being accepted.
Items can be handed directly to Jenny Spring.
Donations might include vouchers; toys; beverages; tools; etc.
Tickets for the epic multi-draw raffle have been sent home to each family. They can be sold to anyone for $1 per ticket. More tickets can be picked up at the office.
Please return unsold tickets and ticket ends with money from sales to the P&C box in the office by Tuesday 2nd December.
