The Founder: Catherine J Griss

From a very early age, Catherine had the desire to continue creating healthy body products. Raised on home grown produce and together with her mother, they made herbal hair, skin and internal tonic preparations for their own use. Even plants considered weeds, they used as medicine. Later in life, when Catherine experienced a miscarriage while married to a Medical Doctor, she began analysing why so many women miscarried. Her husband brought to her attention many reasons, but when he mentioned that some commonly used ingredients in skincare were able to cause spontaneous abortion (miscarriage), it sparked an unending passion to actively do something to make a change in the skincare industry. She decided to no longer to keep her families health secrets to herself and although this was not the reason for her loss, it re-ignited a yearning to satisfy her creativity in designing skin, hair and body products, knowing that these types of products were not available anywhere in the world. Furthermore, she was disappointed with the brands on the market not being completely honest and/or using loopholes to mislead the public. Starting from scratch never unnerved, Catherine coming from a long line of entrepreneurs, she already had the commitment for what it was going to take and she never, not for one moment, doubted in her ability or in the capacity of the yet to be created brand, saying, ‘I’m not doing this for a few people, a town

or a country; I’m doing it for the world’. Catherine already had a clear vision of where her brand would be. After several years of R&D, Catherine founded KuuSh in Adelaide, Australia. Using her innate creativity and founding knowledge, together with collaboration cutting edge technology she produced the world’s first truly organic brand without the use of harmful chemicals or preservatives. The product manufacturing moved and is nestled in a beautiful seaside town where the air is pure and constantly circulating.So…along the catwalk came KuuSh! All went silent, for all consumers had ever been told or had learnt…were lies! It is a hard pill to swallow for some when all they had ever come to know is suddenly blown out of the water. Then begins the celebrations! The excitement sets in and clients are so excited that the phones don’t stop ringing to tell KuuSh staff how wonderful KuuSh products are and how they have never used anything like KuuSh before….ever!Catherine’s expertise quickly became known and she was soon called upon as an Industry Advisor by AQIS (Australian Quarantine Inspection Service). At the same time Catherine was asked to be the Technical Advisor and write the Health and Beauty standards for Australia’s oldest certifying body in 2007.Catherine J Griss is described as a celebrity in the skin care industry. She is contacted from around the world and paid handsomely for her expertise, advice and to comment or write articles for magazines and for interviews by media. She has appeared on television programs several times with more offers coming in on a constant basis. Catherine is a keen advocate for wildlife and animals great and small.
