WA’s ‘Taste Master’ to visit 2013 Kulin Bush Races!
You may have recently seen Tourism Australia’s ‘Best job in the World campaign. At the center of the campaign was a
global competition with each of the state tourism organizations offering their own unique “Best Job in the World” as a
prize?
Western Australia’s best job was a Taste Master and the
winner, 34-year-old Rich Keam from Brighton in the UK,
will be attending the 2013 Bush Races! Rich was selected
from over 90,000 Expressions of Interest for the Best
Jobs in the World campaign.
The Taste Master is required to eat his way around the
State, foraging out our finest produce and experiencing
WA’s best bars, restaurants, cafes, wineries and micro-
breweries.
The Bush Races will be a great opportunity for Rich to
experience a totally different side to WA’s hospitality industry and an absolutely fantastic opportunity for Kulin.
Rich is required to document his experiences and share them with the world through social media and an internet
blog. Therefore everything which he writes about the Kulin Bush Races will go across the world! If you would like any

Dear Parents & Community Members, Industrial action is being taken by teachers state-wide today to protest at the education cuts currently being implemented by the state government. These cuts do not affect the salaries being paid to teachers, but they will directly affect the quality of education for our students in Kulin. The cuts include:
- shifting the cost of long service leave from the Education Department to individual schools (paid as a levy by each school to the Education Department);
- changing the formula used to calculate the number of staff the school gets allocated. This either means larger split classes or the school reducing spending in other areas to fund teaching positions;
- reducing the allocation made to the school under the “Schools Support Program Resource Allocation” by 30%. This is the money used to run literacy and numeracy support programs in the school.
Although the State School Teachers Union members at Kulin are not leaving their classes to attend stop work meetings today, we want to make it clear that we do protest the budget cuts in education, and that we do support teachers that are taking action. We care about the education of children in Kulin, so we call upon parents and the community to support us in stoping the state government’s attempt to save money at the expense of our students.
