Krytox® in Sealed-for-Life Automotive ApplicationsGenerally only used in the most demanding applications as required to meet warranty life requirements
Specific strengths of most importance for off-the-shelf products are thermal/oxidative stability and high viscosity index
A primary strength of Krytox® lubricants is DuPont’s ability to develop custom formulations for especially challenging applications
Custom formulations also address performance parameters such as fretting wear resistance, high energy corona stability, gear applications and centrifugal oil separation resistance

Krytox® in Sealed-for-Life Automotive Applications (cont)
Application rates for typical high-speed (under hood) automotive bearings are generally in the range of 15 to 20% of the bearing free space - generally less than 1 gram per bearing
Application rates for typical lower speed (driveline) automotivebearings are generally in the range of 20 to 25% of the bearing free space

Krytox® NVH Product Strengths
Krytox® oils and greases are compatible with all common materials used on automotive interiors as well as suspension bushings
The static coefficient of friction is lower than the kinetic coefficient of friction eliminating the potential energy build-up required for the generation of squeaks/itches/judders
The Krytox® oils and greases do not migrate away from the point of application
12
Krytox® NVH Product Strengths (cont)
The application rate is generally about 4 grams per square meter
Most applications require less than 0.2 grams of grease or oil
Can be applied using robotic spray systems or by hand
