You will learnfrom these artists

You may apply for one tuition session (one session lasts around 45 minutes). Please send us a live recording – for eligible compositions check “Live recording” on the back (DVD, CD, mp3-file or mp4-file; no down-load links!). The teacher will be selected by Kronberg Academy but you may indicate two preferences.

Please enclose a copy of your student identity card, proof of payment and a short CV with a photograph. Your application must reach us by Friday, 14 August at the latest.

Applicants will be selected on the basis of the record-ings submitted and in consultation with the professors. You will be informed of the results about three weeks before the start of the Festival (7 September).

In 26 concerts given by the Festival artists – from Matinees to Night Owl Concerts – you will hear works by

Auerbach, Bach, Bartók, Beethoven, Bériot, Bertelsmeier, Biber, Blake, Boccherini, Brahms, Chausson, Clarke, Dancla, Debussy, Demenga, Dutilleux, Dvořák, Fauré, Franck, Haydn, Hindemith, Hummel, Janáček, Kancheli, Kreisler, Kühnl, Kurtág, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Milstein, F X Mozart, W A Mozart, Piatti, Popper, Prokofiev, Ravel, Sarasate, Schachtner, Schnittke, Schubert, Schu-mann, Sollima, Strauss, Tsintsadze, Umebayashi, Vivaldi, Weinberg, Wieniawski, Ysaÿe, Zimbalist and others.

Registered students can buy tickets for all other concerts at the reduced price of EUr 15 (unless previously sold out). Reserved tickets can be collected on the day of the concert.

A limited number of scholarships are available. Applicants should give the reason for their application and send a recommendation from two different tutors.

Violin1. Two movements from a Bach Sonata or two movements from a Bach Partita plus2. the first movement of a Romantic concerto of your choice.

ViolA1. The first movement of the Stamitz concerto in D major or the first movement of the Hoffmeister concerto in D major or the first movement of the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata plus2. the first movement of the Bartók concerto or the first movement of the Walton concerto or the first movement of Hindemith’s “Der Schwanendreher”.

ViolonCello1. Two movements from a Bach suite plus 2. the first movement of a Romantic concerto of your choice.

pAyMenT

Your application is valid only if accompanied by payment. Please pay EUr 200 (for registration as a passive participant) or EUr 250 (for registration as an active participant). If you are not accepted for active participation, the EUR 50 will be refunded in Kronberg. Payment may be made by bank transfer (please enclose a payment

receipt) or by credit card (Mastercard or Visa). For bank transfers from a country other than Germany, EUR 5 to cover bank charges must be added to your payment. The number of participants is limit ed. Applications will be considered in order of receipt of payment.

We will send you a short letter to confirm receipt of your applica-tion and payment. Cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds can only be made if we receive the cancellation notice at least three weeks prior to the Festival. There will be a cancellation charge of EUR 25 to cover administrative expenses. Bank charges will also be deducted. There will be no refunds for no shows.

The picturesque little town of Kronberg, which is home to Kron berg Academy and the “world capital of the cello”, is just 16 km from Frankfurt am Main and 20 km from Frankfurt Airport. It has a direct link to Frankfurt’s main railway station (suburban rail link S4, travel time: 18 minutes).

ACCoMModATion

We will try to arrange private accommodation for students if requested (contribution towards expenses EUr 10 per night). Payment should be made directly to the host family; please do not include these charges in your payment to Kronberg Academy. We will send you details of your host family after 15 September. We will send a list of hotels and guesthouses on request.
