HISTORY OF KOTAK Mahindra & Mohammed was originally

incorporated in 1945 by the bro. J.C Mahindra-K.C Mahindra and Malik Gulam Mohammed in Ludhiana. After the partition of India in 1947, Malik Mohammed left the co. & emigrated to Pakistan where he became the 1st Finance Minister of new state. In 1948 Mahindra bro. changed company name to Mahindra & Mahindra.

In 1985, Kotak Capital Management Finance Limited was established and start ‘Bill Discounting’ acitivity. In 1986 they change the name to Kotak Mahindra Finance Limited.

In 2003 was get the license to carry on Banking business by RBI. And this creat a History in Corporate world of India where Kotak is the 1st co. which is converted into a Bank.

Mr. Uday Kotak, In 1985, when he was in early 20’s he thought of setting up a Bank. First Kotak Capital mgmt Ltd. & then Kotak Mahindra finance, Kotak is the 1st banking finance co. in India.

He was named as CNBC TV18 India’s Business Leader of 2008 and as the most valued CEO by bussinessworld in 2010.

MR. C JAYARAM (Executive Director)

Dr. C. Jayaram, is an Executive Diroctor of the Kotak Bank & is currently incharge of wealth management business of Kotak Group. He is with Kotak Group since 1990 & member of Board in October 1999.

He is also the Director of the Finanacial planning standards Board of India.

Dr. Shankar Acharya, B.a from Oxford uni. & Ph.D(Economics) from Harvad University. He was Chief Economics Advisor, member of SEBI. He has also held senior position in the world Bank.He was appointed as the Non-Executive chairman of the Bank in 2009.

DR. SHANKAR ACHARYA(Non-Executive Part-time Chairman)

He is also member of the audit committee of Eros International Media Ltd.

Mr. Dipak Gupta, is the joint MD of the Kotak bank & he has over 26 years of experience in Finance sector. From this 26 he is with Kotak from last 20 years. He is in HR, Administration at Kotak bank.
