The raw material we use to manufacture our HARO Cork Floors comes from Portugal,the world’s leading cork producer. The country is famous for its extensive cork oakforests, which have provided this valuable raw material for generations. Cork isharvested by delicate stripping of the tree’s outer bark once every nine to ten years.This natural raw material is then used as the basis for the top layer of HARO CorkFloors. Bark harvesting is an integral part of the husbandry of cork oakforests. The process does not harm the trees –as you can see from old trees whose bark hasbeen harvested a dozen times.
