To invest igate the general character of acrude oil sample from well 6407/9-1(rftsample,1600M)the API has been determined and thesaturated fract ion of this sample(0MC 3359) has beenanalysed as requested in telex for 090804 of 9.8.84. Acomplete geochemical analyses has been carried out on aPT sample from the interval 1631 -1637M(OMC 3367) whichhas been sent l a t e r ( fo r 120906 of 12.9.84).
The resu l t s of the geochemical analyses aregiven in Table 1 and Figures 1-7.
The gas chrornatograms of the whole crude and ofthe saturated hydrocarbons show a gap between C10 andC15 while the crude has a high percentage of l ightfraction (<120C). This is rather unusual and i t cannotbe excluded that we are dealing here with a mixture ofa condensate and an o i l .
Assuming that the l ight and heavy fractions havethe same or igin , the complete oil analysis carried outon the PT sample indicates the following:-the C7 d i s t r ibu t ion indicate that th is sample has
not been bac ter ia l ly degraded,- i t has been expelled from a mature source rock
containing s t ruc ture less organic matter which is ofbac ter ia l ly reworked phytoplanktonic origin,
- the C7 d i s t r ibu t ion and the pristane n-C17 alkaner a t i o suggest a t e r r e s t r i a l influx to the organicmatter .
