Dear Agents, Employees and Leadership Team, This summer has been a truly incredible time for our company. We want to congratulate all of you on a fantastic month in May. It was a record month with $600 million in newly written business, in comparison with $450 million in May 2014. This is a testament to every single person in this company who is working hard to grow their business. Thank you for your incredible contributions. Thank you to our staff, as well, who work diligently to provide a high level of support within each office. We are fortunate to have great teams in place. While everyone is focused on their clients and helping them be successful with their real estate endeavors, we want to take a moment to discuss a different kind of success. We just completed our Week of Kindness, the company- wide initiative spearheaded by the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation. More than 500 agents and employees dedicated hours of their time to community organizations at more than 20 events. We have thanked you for your performance in the marketplace, but we don’t know if we thank you enough for the type of people you are. To see all of you work together to help those who may not have reasons to smile as often as they should, is very inspiring. So thank you all, not only for the work you accomplish every day in the office, but for the work you do outside of it too. Sincerely, THE KOENIGRUBLOFF READER – 6/25/15

Dear Agents, Employees and Leadership Team,

This summer has been a truly incredible time

for our company. We want to congratulate all

of you on a fantastic month in May. It was a

record month with $600 million in newly written

business, in comparison with $450 million in May

2014. This is a testament to every single person

in this company who is working hard to grow

their business. Thank you for your incredible

contributions. Thank you to our staff, as well, who

work diligently to provide a high level of support

within each office. We are fortunate to have great

teams in place.

While everyone is focused on their clients

and helping them be successful with their real

estate endeavors, we want to take a moment

to discuss a different kind of success. We just

completed our Week of Kindness, the company-

wide initiative spearheaded by the KoenigRubloff

Cares Foundation. More than 500 agents and

employees dedicated hours of their time to

community organizations at more than 20 events.

We have thanked you for your performance in the

marketplace, but we don’t know if we thank you

enough for the type of people you are. To see all

of you work together to help those who may not

have reasons to smile as often as they should, is

very inspiring.

So thank you all, not only for the work you

accomplish every day in the office, but for the

work you do outside of it too.

Sincerely,

THE KOENIGRUBLOFF READER – 6/25/15

A WEEK OF KINDNESS TO REMEMBER

Thank you for making our Week of Kindness such a success. You made a difference as never before, donating approximately 1000 hours of volunteer hours over the course of the week! Company-wide, more than 20 philanthropic events took place across Chicagoland. Joe Stacy, KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation President, attended many of the events and was impressed by the impact the week made in our communities. Enjoy this recap of the week!

The Schaumburg office got an early start, raising funds at a bowling fundraiser for their adopted Little City Foundation homes. They then joined the Park Ridge office to add landscaping, flowers and decorative touches to two integrated community living arrangement homes.

Our Hinsdale office braved rain and wind to host a household item drive, partnering with HSC Family Services, Community Nurse Health Center, Sharing Connections, PADS, and Assistance League of Chicagoland.

The Mag Mile and Gold Coast offices participated in the Ronald McDonald House Cookies from the Heart program and baked 540 cookies over the course of the week.

HomeServices Lending, the Mag Mile and Gold Coast offices hosted a birthday party extravaganza to celebrate the three year anniversary of the downtown Chicago Ronald McDonald House!

The Wheaton office hosted a cookout at the Winfield Ronald McDonald House where they grilled 90 tenderloin sliders and offered a Make Your Own Sundae bar.

The Lincoln Park Clybourn office collected donations and helped our feline neighbors find

homes with a Tree House Cat adoption event at Petco. They will continue to accept donations through the end of June.

The Lake Forest office collected children’s books for Bernie’s Book Bank and more than 40 volunteers gave their time to the warehouse on two days during the week. Bernie’s distributes 35,000 books each week throughout Chicagoland to children who might not otherwise have their own books.

Libertyville, Naperville, Glen Ellyn, Elmhurst and the Northbrook Home office packed more than 34,000 nutritious meals with Feed My Starving Children in Aurora and Libertyville.

Addressing hunger locally, the Marketing team helped rescue 50,000 pounds of food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository at the National Restaurant Show. Evanston, Glenview and Deerfield held food drives and donated volunteer time at local food pantries. Twenty-two Evanston office volunteers worked at the Child Care Center of Evanston where they organized the Library and Resource Center, worked in the garden and sanitized toys and furniture.

The Glenview office made more than 30 blankets for Project Linus, an organization that makes blankets for critically ill children.

Thirteen Webster Avenue office volunteers collected 25,000 pounds of food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

The Winnetka office handed out more than 3,000 refreshing snow-cones and wands of pastel cotton candy and raised significant funds for the Winnetka Community Nursery School. They also handed out 250 Vienna Beef Hot Dogs and 250 bags of popcorn on two days during the week.

The Harbor Country office in New Buffalo is raising money for Relay For Life and will continue to do so until the Berrien County Relay on June 27th.

The Week of Kindness touched people’s lives in

small and great ways. Many participants will never

be the same as a result. Giving of one’s time and

talent can do that to a person. The KoenigRubloff

Cares Foundation Newsletter Summer 2015 is

available on Cabernet Corner in Online Forms

and is available as an eCard should you wish to

share your experiences. Who knows, maybe our

efforts will snowball and encourage others to

expand their own volunteer activities. Boundless

results are indeed possible!

We are thrilled to see so many agents across the

company embrace the KoenigRubloff InTouch app.

For those who are receiving InTouch notifications

to your phone or email, and would prefer to

customize these alerts by turning them on or off,

here are a few quick steps:

1. Log in to the app

2. Navigate to the Left Menu

a. Mobile App: Tap the 3 horizontal lines at the top left of the screen to reveal the left menu

b. Website/Desktop: Simply hover your cursor over the far left, gray bar, which will expand the menu options

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and select “Notification Settings”

In Notification Settings, you can select whether

to receive post/subscription alerts via your

email or a push notification. A push notification

is how your phone alerts you when there is new

information from an app. Simply tap the setting

you wish to turn on or off. If the bar turns green,

the notification setting is on. If you tap the bar

and it turns white, the notifications are off.

Turning off all notifications does NOT limit your

access to InTouch posts. At any point, you can

always log-in to the app and review any loop or

folder to which you are a member.

For those who are new to the app, we encourage

you to visit the Video Training Library in Cabernet

Corner. There are several short videos to help

you get started, and advanced InTouch training

videos are on the way.

Erik Stegemann of the Mag Mile office used

the InTouch app pre-market notice “First Look”

to share his new listing with his KoenigRubloff

colleagues. Webster Avenue’s Mike Wade saw

the listing, the deal went under contract in short

order and the rest is history. If you aren’t using

the InTouch app for posting new listings and any

client needs, you might consider giving it a try.

Erik’s glad he did. So’s Mike!

Diane Glass recently sent out an email to all agents

about the upcoming changes to lending rules that

take effect later this year. The new rules, forms

and processes surrounding them are called TRID.

Training kicked off in the Hinsdale office! Molly

Ryan, KoenigRubloff General Counsel, Mike Mabry

of HomeServices Lending and Mike Collins of Fort

Dearborn Title will be presenting at your sales

meetings this month to discuss the TRID forms

and best practices in more detail.

In advance of your meetings, we recommend

viewing the new TRID On-Demand video available

in Cabernet Corner. In less than 15 minutes you

can get an overview of the new rules, documents

and procedures.

THANK YOU FROM FORT DEARBORN INSURANCE AGENCY!

Fort Dearborn Insurance Agency would like to

for your partnership.

Page 18: KoenigRubloff Reader - 6/25/15

Vacation rentals can be great investments, but

insuring one is different than insuring a primary

or secondary home. Depending on the rental

scenario, your client’s standard homeowner’s

policy may not cover losses incurred while their

home is rented out. They may require a more

specialized insurance policy.

It is a common misconception among homeowners

that their vacation rental home is adequately

covered by a traditional second home insurance

policy, but this is not the case. If your clients plan

to rent out all or part of their rental property on

either a short or long-term basis, they may be

adding risk and violating the terms of a standard

homeowner’s insurance policy. Potential violations

may include:

Living in the property and occasionally renting

out a space/room.

Renting all or part of the property on a regular

basis for a short period of time, such as a week

or several weekends, to various guests.

Plans to rent for a longer period of time, such as

six months or a year to one person, a couple or

a family.

Renting a room periodically through an online

service; such as the increasingly popular Airbnb.

Having the right vacation rental insurance will help

your clients enjoy the benefits of their investment

without suffering a personal financial loss.

That’s why it’s so important to have your clients

discuss their plans with one of our consultants

before renting out or sub-letting their vacation

property. Fort Dearborn Insurance Agency can

help your client evaluate their existing insurance

policies, identify gaps and assist them in obtaining

coverage that meets their needs. Contact one of

our insurance consultants today at 847.853.5300.

A NOTE FROM FORT DEARBORN INSURANCE AGENCY. WHAT TYPE OF INSURANCE DOES YOUR CLIENT NEED FOR THEIR VACATION RENTAL?

SAFETY TIP – MOVE RIGHT FOR SIRENS & LIGHTS!

When emergency or government vehicles are

called to action, it is important that we respond

quick and safely. If you are driving down the road

and see the lights and sirens of a moving vehicle

in your rearview mirror, move to the right and stop

to allow them to move easily down the road. Once

the emergency vehicles have passed, merge back

into traffic carefully. Move Over laws are in place

in all states, requiring motorists to change lanes

and/or slow down when approaching stopped

emergency vehicles along the road or highway.
