When "Mom" Blanche Parr sold the Linger Inn in 1945, she built this popular restau-rant across the street. Parr included a basement lounge and bowling alley in the plans and served some of the best fried chicken around. She sold Club 52 to Bob Hulse and Ed Truitt who in turn sold it to Kelly Gilliam. It operated for a few years as The Knotty Pine. Building is now demolished. BCHS image

Improving Access to Our Research Collection

To improve the ease of finding items in the Boone County Historical Society research collec-tion, we are inventorying our extensive assortment of subject files. The inventory will contain a title or description of each item and keywords to facilitate searching from our website, and it will help researchers to easily discover resources relevant to their inquiries. The Boone County His-torical Society collection at Cragun house is available by appointment by calling 765-483-9414.

Tour Cragun House Take a step back to the late 19th century with a tour of Cragun House. Built in 1893 by newspa-per publisher and Lebanon school superinten-dent Strange Cragun, the home was gifted to the historical society by the Cragun family in 1988. Call 765-483-9414 to request a tour time.
