You can play any rock and roll song just by knowing your major scale. Get your scale, find the first, fourth and fifth degree and youre the next Little Richard! Take the C major scale;

We use Roman numerals simply so the sequence can be applied to any scale. This theory is applied to every major scale, A,B,C,D,E,F and G. Most of you will know how to work out a major scale. T T ST T T T ST etc.

Walking BassThe Bass has a particular role with rock and roll just the same as it does in Blues. Have a listen to the audio examples and tell me the difference between the two bass lines.The walking bass uses the following sequence ascending and then descending. We use Roman numerals simply so the sequence can be applied to any scale.
