FAITHFUL NAVIGATOR’S MESSAGE – MARCH 2016 “Together we could be an enormous force for good in a world that so obviously needs the love of God and love of neighbor, which are reflected in our work.” Carl A. Anderson, Supreme Knight
Worthy Sir Knights, I want to thank those Grand Knights and Officers in those Councils that make up our Assembly for doing an “outstanding” job of getting the word out and recruiting a total of Nineteen (19) Brother Knights, including Father Lawrence (from St. Clare Council 12887) to join our Assembly this Columbian year. According to the District Secretary, 4th Degree Exemplification numbers were down across the board. But he commended us for a job well done! By the time you all read this, we will have had a great weekend as fifty-two (52) Sir Knights and their Knights’ Ladies joined in the 4th Degree Exemplification festivities this year! Thank you! On the subject of events, we are in the final stages of planning for the new Sir Knights Welcome Dinner (Saturday, June 11) which will be much earlier this year. And the Officer Installation Ceremony and Dinner (Saturday, July 23). Both catered events will be held at Auburn, St. Joseph Parish Hall. This year Mother Lode Assembly will be hosting the Officers Installation and Dinner. We will be joined by Centennial Assembly and Golden Sierra Assembly. The menus and prices have been set. Fliers should be out soon. Lastly, I am proud to say the SK Dick Gilberg is working feverishly to completely revamp our “website”. He has been reaching out to several of you for information. It will be extremely informative and constantly updated. This was one of our goals for this year. It looks like it may be up and running soon. To have a quality product we can be proud of takes time. SK Dick is doing his best. For those that want a peek go to: KofCAssembly2778.org Thank you again for all your cooperation and patience. Your Assembly Officers are here to serve YOU. Vivat Jesus Sir Knight Ricco Ches, 916.869.4447 FN, Mother Lode Assembly #2778

CHALICE / MASS KIT REPORT
April 2016
Another month has passed on into history but no members of the Mother Lode Assembly passed on with it. We are a tenacious bunch when it comes to staying alive. Not sure what the motivation is. Maybe we all have unpaid debts to clear up before we take the leap. Maybe we prefer to be a member of the Church Militant as opposed to the Church Triumphant. The latter does not sound like a bad organization to join. While we delay adding our names to a chalice, however, there continues to be a need for Mass Kits in many places. Fr. Augustine from Kenya continues to advise he can use many more. Possibly I have a solution. Anyone can purchase a Mass Kit and have any name they prefer engraved on the paten. There are a variety of Mass Kits available with prices ranging from a couple hundred dollars to much much more. Just do a search for Mass Kits on line or go to Trinity Catholic Bookstore in Roseville. My brothers and I have decided to purchase one, have our parent’s names inscribed upon the paten and send it to Fr. Augustine. This seems to be a great way to honor a loved one and maybe, like me, they will need all the prayers in the world to help them become a member of the Church Triumphant. If you agree and wish to follow up on this great idea, let me know and I will provide you Fr. Augustine’s address. My email is [email protected]. Hope to see at the April meeting. Peace and Love, SK Ron Roussey Chalice Chairman, Mother Lode Assembly
