TURBINE IP / LP NOZZLE GUIDE VANES:The Kite manufactured Avon NGV's are equivalent to the latest OEM modification blade standard with all vane types completely interchangeable with existing OEM blades, although it is recommneded that they are fitted as a complete set.

HP Vanes are available in 3 types with throat area's to suit 1533, 1534 and 1535 engine marks.Featuring Sermaloy J diffusion coating to maximise blade corrosion resistance and with both IP and LP Vanes manufactured from Inconel 738 to offer improved creep resistance.

It is critical that mark suitability is noted in selection of vane type.

TURBINE HP NOZZLE GUIDE VANES:The Kite manufactured Avon HP Nozzle Guide Vane (NGV) is equivalent to an OEM manufactured Avon HP NGV at modification standard 4545 – part number AG58932/AG58933A.

All types are fully interchangeable although it is recommneded that they are fitted as a complete set.Features include modification 4545 standard silicon modified aluminide coating (Sermaloy J) to the gas washed surfaces and modification 3526 standard chromium carbide coating on the discharge nozzle locating lips.

THERMOCOUPLE HARNESS:The Kite manufactured Thermocouple Harness is a direct equivalent to an OEM manufactured assembly, and is fully interchangeable, being easily changed on site with no control system retrofit required.

Featuring 8 individual thermocouples for recording T4 station (ECT) on the engine for control of engine top temperature limit and for recording ECT spread.

EXHAUST CONE LOCATING SLEEVE BUSH:The Kite manufactured Bush is a direct equivalent to an OEM manufactured component, and is fully interchangeable, although some machining may be required to specific assemblies to ensure correct fit within the exhaust unit.

This bush provides a sliding fit between the exhaust unit inner cone and outer cone and on request are available to oversize dimensions to suit the outer cone bore.

TURBINE REAR BEARING:The Kite manufactured Rear bearing, supporting the rear of the turbine shaft in the bearing housing, is a direct equivalent to an OEM manufactured component, and is fully interchangeable, however bearings (either nominal or oversize) must be fitted with the same type of inner race (Turbine Sleeve), for assistance contact KITE

Turbines.It is a standard roller element bearing available in 2 types, nominal and 0.010" undersize.

It is a regular replacement component due to scoring on the Rear Bearing Inner Race (Turbine Sleeve).

The Kite manufactured Rear Bearing Inner Race Turbine Sleeve, is a direct equivalent to an OEM manufactured component, and is fully interchangeable, however sleeves (either nominal or undersize) must be fitted with the same type of Rear Roller Bearing, for assistance contact KITE Turbines.The sleeve comes in 2 types, nominal and 0.010" undersize to mate with the appropriate bearing type.

To extend the sleeve life it can be ground 0.010" undersize and a matching bearing fitted to suit.

INLET GUIDE VANES: The Kite manufactured Avon Intake Guide Vanes (IGV) are equivalent to the OEM manufactured Avon Intake Guide Vanes at modification standard 4153.

All stages of stator vanes are completely interchangeable with existing OEM components.

ACTUATING IGV BUSHES: The Kite manufactured Aluminium bushes are direct equivalents to an OEM manufactured assemblies, and are fully interchangeable.

These aluminium bushes come with Glacier DU liners providing friction and wear resistance to the outer journal of the Inlet Guide Vanes.

IGV ACTUATING RINGS: The Kite manufactured Actuating rings (for variable geometry)are direct equivalents to an OEM manufactured components, and are fully interchangeable.

Note: standard OEM components are prone to wear on the trunnion locations and require regular replacement.

FRONT BEARING: The Kite manufactured Front bearing assembly and outer race, supporting the front of the compressor shaft in the inlet casing, is a direct equivalent to an OEM manufactured component, and is fully interchangeable.

It is a standard roller element bearing. Outer Race is secured into the Front Bearing Housing (1-2) and is generally considered a consumable due to it being prone to scoring of bearing track in service.

FLAME TUBE BRIDGE PIECE:The Kite manufactured Bridge pieces are direct equivalents to an OEM manufactured assemblies, and are fully interchangeable. The Bridge pieces secure the flame tubes to each other and reduce frettage across the rear baffles.

Bridge pieces are consumable and are cut during removal. Once cut existing pieces can be dressed back and KN3495 welded on top of the old piece to re-bridge.

DISCHARGE NOZZLES:The Kite Turbines Avon Discharge Nozzle is similar to an OEM manufactured Avon Discharge Nozzle, part number AG59132A, however incorporates various design improvements.

In addition to featuring the latest modifications from the OEM, it incorporates an alternative design of front and rear retaining bracket which greatly improves the strength of the brackets and minimises fatigue cracking. This bracket design improvement can also be applied to existing OEM nozzles on request.There is a minor interchangeability impact due to this bracket re-design, requiring changeout to be by complete set, rather than being able to install individual Kite nozzles with existing OEM versions.
