    Introduction:

    First-Aid: The help that you give to a person who is injured or who becomessuddenly ill to:

    Preserve lifePrevent the condition from becoming worse.Promote recovery

    Medical Aid: The care given by trained medical professionals at the scene or ahospital

    The following instruction tells you how to give FIRST AIDwhen medical aid is not available or while waiting formedical aid to arrive. It covers only the serious and life-threatening emergencies and deals with the most urgenttreatment measures

    FIRST AID ABC:

    A-Airway:Ensure that the airway is free.If the injured is not breathing take immediate actionwith mouth-to mouth- respiration.

    B-Bleeding:If severe, apply direct pressure andelevate the injury limb.

    C-Circulation/Shock:Calm the victim to avoid anyshock

    A-Airway:

    Ensure That Airway is free.

    If the injured is not breathing, give Mouth-To-Mouth respiration.

    Stable breathing, have the victim in recovery position.

    Unstable breathing, push back the forehead, give Mouth-To-Mouth

    respiration.

    Artificial Respiration (Mouth-To-Mouth)

    Lifting the chin forward, push back the forehead, place the mask, blue colour up,red colour victims mouth Pinch the victim's nose closed, take a deep breath yourself. Put your mouth onto blue side of breathing mask and blow. After inflation, raise your mouth form the mask to allow air to escape. Look, listen and feel for air coming on.

    Deep breath-Blow-Check that chest raise. Blow 12-15 respirations per minute

    Note: For children, blow throughthe nose and mouth at the same

    time. 15-20 respirations per minute

    B-BLEEDING

    Use gloves to prevent virus infection

    Elevate the injured limb

    Apply direct pressure to stop bleeding

    Apply bandage to stop severe bleeding

    Wash the wound with water and soap or a cleansing swab Let it dry Apply Plasters

    Medium Cuts and wounds No.2

    Do not touch the wound with your finger. Wash the wound with water and soap or a cleansing swab Let it dry. Apply Plasters.

    Seek medical Aid, particular if the wounds are deep or dirty,or if the wounds need stitching.

    Sever bleeding No. 3

    Elevate injured limb orhand etc.,

    Apply direct pressure Apply bandage If blood soaked add

    pressure bandage

    C-Circulation-Shock

    Calm the victim to avoid any shock If the victim is unconscious, but stable breathing, place him in recovery

    position

    Check breathing Stop bleeding, if any Comfort the victim Stay with the victim Keep him warm

    Check list for First Aider:

    Use gloves to avoid virus infection. Save life. Check breathing or give mouth-to-mouth respiration If severe bleeding, do not wash the wound, apply direct pressure to stop

    bleeding and apply bandage Avoid shock. If unconscious, check breathing Have the victim in recovery position. Prevent the condition from becoming worse

    During Emergency give help, next time you may need help too

    Place of accident:

    Give warning to other travelers Take out the key from the vehicle

    to avoid ignition. If possible, dont move the injured Look for other injured in the area. Start first aid and call for help
