Did You Know? The most common fracture prior to age 75 is a wrist-fracture. (After 75 years of age, the most common fracture is to the hip). In an “average size” adult, the total weight of the skin is around 24 pounds. In an “average” adult, there are over 2.5 million sweat glands. A hard-working adult sweats around 1000 gallons per year. A typical American will consume approximately 30 tons (60,000 pounds) of food in a lifetime.

Letters to the Ed.

Dear Ed. – I love to practice KRAV MAGA at home on my wife. The other night, I snuck up behind her and put her in a rear-naked choke! Unfortunately, she then stomped on my foot, elbowed me in the ribs and then turned around and knee’d me in the groin! I ask you, don’t you think she was a little out-of-line with that reaction? ------ Dick Hedd

Dear D.H. – Yes, she was absolutely out of line! She should have also punched you in the throat and torn off one of your ears for doing that to her. Stick to training on the mats with actual training partners. Dear Ed. – What should you do if a guy who has just shot you 10 times, then runs to a local gun-shop to buy more ammo to shoot you 10 more times? Should you pursue him to make sure he can’t continue to shoot? Should you apply for a pistol-permit so that one day you can buy a gun to get revenge? This kind of thing keeps happening to me, and I’d like to know what the best course of action is for when it happens to me again.--- Chuck Norris Dear Chuck – Definitely apply for that permit.

Coming Soon!!!!! The First KMLI Overnight Seminar! Midnight til 5:00 AM Self-Defense, Sparring, Low-Light Drills, High-Distraction Drills, “Gang” Attacks, & More…..Plus “Breakfast”!!!

Push Yourself to New Limits & Have a Blast Doing It! Registration Will Begin on Sunday, June 12th

WHY should women train in Krav Maga? Why not just do aerobics or step-classes? Let’s face it, if you are a woman, and you are doing any kind of regular exercise, you are ahead of the game. Anything that

improves your cardio-health, strength, bone-density, and sense of well-being is a plus. So why Krav Maga? Here are five good reasons:

1. You will experience, in every class, a vigorous cardio-workout that will burn calories and build confidence!

2. You will learn one of the world’s most effective and respected systems of self-defense.

3. You will meet men and women from throughout Long Island, Queens, and beyond who come to KMLI to train in one of the most stimulating training environments you can find.

4. You’ll never be bored with your workouts! 5. You will be able to protect yourself—and your loved ones!—

from threats or attacks that might otherwise “short-circuit” your way of life.

Instructor attacked by

Roving Kombat Kidz Gang! It was bound to happen. For years, KMLI Instructor Michael Cohen had remained oblivious to the threat posed by notorious Kombat Kidz like Alli-C and Maya “Blue-Shoes”. Recently, Instructor Cohen was victimized by a sneak-attack and was helpless under the onslaught of the girl-gang’s “inverted L-formation.” Although Michael survived, he has developed a profound fear of children. Law

Enforcement officials have issued a warning to the community to be on the lookout for kids that like to be upside down or to climb onto the heads of adults.
