JODY DEAN AND THE MORNING TEAMM-F, 5a-9a

Jody Dean is an Emmy award-winning 35-year veteran of television and radio with a collection of some of the

most prestigious awards in the industry. A native of Fort Worth, Jody attended Paschal High School and Abilene

Christian University. He began his career in 1973 at WBAP-TV Channel 5 (NBC5). Dean arrived at Dallas’s

legendary KVIL Radio in 1981, where he stayed for 13 years before moving to NewsRadio 1080 KRLD in 1994.

Dean joined CBS-11 TV in 1995, where he hosted a daily talk show and anchored the noon and 4 o’clock news.

During the course of his career he has covered or reported the biggest stories of a generation, and has been

on the air in North Texas longer than any other active local broadcaster.

Rebekah Black, born and bred in the great state of Texas, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with

a BS in Radio, Television, and Film. Rebekah has been working in radio for the last 6 years,

having started as an intern in Austin, moved to Los Angeles to become a Promotions Assistant and then moved

back to Dallas to be the Associate Producer for Jody Dean and The Morning Team.

Rebekah has been married a little over 3 years and is a proud parent to Major, Moose, Baby Cakes, and

KC…her 4 dogs!

David Rancken has been in broadcasting for more than 25 years, starting his career as the nightly news

anchorman for a small TV station in Houston. David went on to work drive times at radio stations KLTR and KODA

in Houston. He doubled up as a reporter/senior producer for KNWS-TV, Channel 51 and worked overnights on

the air at KODA. David made the move to DFW and joined the staff at KVIL radio for mornings in February, 2005.

He pulled double duty doing midday news at KRLD. He recently joined the morning show at KLUV.

David has won numerous broadcast awards from the Associated Press, the Texas Association of Broadcasters,

as well as the Dallas and Houston Press Clubs.

Jenny QM-F, 9a-2p

Jenny Q can (almost) see both her birthplace and high school from

the KLUV studios. An avid DFW radio listener while growing up, she

memorized pop charts and frequently phoned disc jockeys. “Much to

their annoyance I’m sure.” For two decades post-college – much of

that as 1/2 of a popular California morning radio team – Jenny

voiced numerous national and regional spots, and occasionally

showed her face in soap operas and commercials while living in Los

Angeles. Her parents, sister and best friends all live in Dallas. She

bleeds blue & silver, and loves playing the greatest hits ever …

middays on KLUV.

Blake PowersM-F, 2p-7p

Blake recently marked his first year here with the CBS Radio family in

Dallas Forth Worth Texas. Blake comes to us from WestwoodOne DFW,

where he was the Hot Adult Contemporary format PM Drive

personality and Executive Producer. In between market successes for

Blake include Denver, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Kansas City and West

Palm Beach, but having close family and friends in the area, he is

happy to be back in the Dallas market.

Community outreach and "paying-it-forward" through well known

and respected charities, is part of Blake's DNA. Blake is also a voice-

over artist, working with many national and international brands

including Starbucks, Infinity and NAPA. In his free time, you'll probably

bump into him at a movie theater, museum, cultural event or

hanging on at a lake.

KLUV 30TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY

KLUV’s 30th Anniversary Party will pay respects to the heritage that

the station has built over the years. This celebration will focus on the

incredible music that is played day-in and day-out on the station and

that centers to the listening pleasures of those that love the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. As well, this is

also a give-back party for the more than one-million loyal listeners that tune in weekly to hear the like of

Jody Dean, Jenny Q, John Summers and Jim Zippo.
