Everyone deserves a rest over the Christmas holidays – just make sure it doesn’t affectyour business! The shops are back open on Boxing Day and it’s actually one of themost popular shopping days of the year! Why miss out on spectacular sales for a dayof more turkey and telly?!

The December Retail Challenge continues into the New Year. We’re now starting thelast two weeks of the challenge, with the winners announced at the New YearShowcase on 8 January at the ICC in Birmingham.
Weeks 4 and 5 run from 9.16pm Thursday 23 December 2010 to 9.15pm Thursday 6January 2011. All you need to do in these two weeks is achieve 250 Bonus Points.

As mentioned last week, due to the increase in VAT, cost priceincreases and general inflation, the vast majority of prices ofproducts carried forward from the Autumn Winter catalogues toSpring Summer 2011 catalogues have increased in price.These new prices will become effective on all sales from 11January inclusive.
Spring Summer 2011 booksThe price increases in the SS2011 catalogues have come aboutdue to the cost increases we have received as a cause of theglobal increase in prices of raw materials and the increase in VATfrom 17.5% to 20%, which comes into effect from Tuesday 4January. We will be delaying the changeover to the new VAT rateto Tuesday 11 January and therefore this is an opportunity to sellat the higher price to your customers and pay the lower pre-VATprice to us.
Products carried over from Autumn Winter 2010 to theSpring Summer 2011 booksThe products carried over from Autumn Winter 2010 to theSpring Summer 2011 books will also have price increases that willtake effect from Tuesday 11 January, whereas all Autumn Winter2010 catalogue products that are not carrying forward to SpringSummer 2011 will not be affected by the VAT increase and will belive until 28 January 2011.
Sales AidsSome Sales Aids will be affected by the VAT increase but the greatnews for sponsoring is that the prices for the Starter kits andIncome Kits will not be affected by the VAT increase and thereforewill stay at a price comparable to 2005!
