Adaptatone® MillenniumMultiple Tone Signal
The Edwards 5530M Adaptatone Millennium is a heavy-duty indus-
trial, tone-selectable, signaling device capable of producing volume-
controlled, high-decibel tones. It uses a microprocessor circuit to
create 27 distinctive tones, selected by setting a dip switch within
the unit. For a complete listing of all 27 tones, see page 4-55. The
Adaptatone Millennium can be activated from field-wired, normally
open contacts, or from a 24VDC or 120VAC external voltage source
such as an output of a PLC. PLC compatibility assures no addi-
tional loading resistors or relays are required to set up your
Adaptatone.
Selected models are designed to serially connect to RS485 net-
works. The 5530MV-485Y6 additionally has a field recordable voice
feature that allows activation of voice messages over the RS485
network. See connectivity and Activation section for more detail.
Normally open contacts can be obtained from the Cat. No. 5538-4
and/or Cat. No. 5538-4R Adaptatone Signal Actuators. See pg. 4-49.
Designed for industrial applications requiring high decibel output and
microprocessor reliability. Typical applications include emergency
warning systems, plant evacuation and security intrusion alarms,
process monitoring, shift start-and-dismissal horns, and paging sig-
nals.

ing volume-controlled, high-decibel tones. It uses a microprocessor
circuit to create 27 distinctive tones. A single tone may be selected
by setting a miniature switch within the unit. For a complete listing
of all 27 tones, see page 4-55.
The Adaptatone Millenium can be activated from field-wired, nor-
mally open contacts, or a 24VDC or 120VAC external voltage
source such as an output of a PLC. Normally open contacts can be
obtained from the 5538-4 and/or 5538-4R Adaptatone Signal Actua-
tors. See page 4-49.
The 5530MHV-485Y6 is designed to be connected to RS485 net-
works, allowing full serial signaling communication control.
Designed for industrial applications. Typical applications include
emergency warning systems, plant evacuation and security intru-
sion alarms, process monitoring, shift start-and-dismissal horns,
and paging signals.
The 5530MHV is designed for either 1/2" (13mm) conduit or surface
mounting. See Adaptatone Signaling Installation, pages 4-56.

Airchime® Air Horns
C Series
These air horns are for general signaling services. They generate
sound by means of a vibrating diaphragm that modulates the flow of
compressed air into a resonating projector. All horn shapes are
mathematically calculated to amplify sound while closely retaining
its fundamental frequency and natural harmonics. All horn frequen-
cies are designed to give balance to any combination of horn tones.
These horns can be used in indoor/outdoor applications, ideal for
hazardous location use, individual equipment and plant warnings.
Volume is adjustable by regulating air pressure.
Designed for mounting on air supply piping, supplying between 50
and 150 PSIG (3.5 and 10.5 kg/sq cm). May be bracket mounted
using the AC30106 post bracket.
Typical applications include: emergency signaling applications such
as mines, refineries and industrial facilities. They can also be used
for signaling activities such as shift start/stop, blast warning and
equipment stop/starts.

The Edwards 5531MV Adaptatone Millennium Voice unit is a heavy-
duty industrial, tone-selectable, signaling device capable of produc-
ing volume-controlled, high-decibel tones and up to 20 seconds of
field recorded voice messages. The Adaptatone Millennium Voice
unit can be activated from field-wired, normally open contacts, or a

page 4-49.
The unit uses a microprocessor circuit to create 27 distinctive
tones and store 20 seconds of field recorded voice messages. Mes-
sages and tones may be selected by setting miniature dip switches
within the unit. A total of four messages and tones programmed op-
erate on a pyramid-type priority system. For more information on
priority tone operation and a complete listing of all 27 tones, see

Lots of power in a small package. Great versatility - whether you
are supplying a large industry, small community, or filling “dead
spots,” the 107 dB rated omni-directional EWS-V1 Series is the an-
swer. The non-corrosive, cast aluminum fan is powered by a 5 Hp
motor in your choice of single or three phase power, and produces a
port tone frequency of 460 cycles per second.
All exposed siren components are made of zinc plated, steel con-
struction, which are “powder coated” for the most durable finish
available. The fan and housing are both made of non-corrosive cast
aluminum.

Our most affordable dual tone siren, the EWS-V5 Series is de-
signed to excel in almost any application. Its staged horn projectors
provide a large, even coverage area. Rated at 122 dB, the Model
EWS-V5 is an omni-directional siren which produces continuous
360° coverage, a clear advantage over rotating sirens.
The EWS-V5 is available in either single or three phase power. It is
a dual tone siren, employing two rotors with different numbers of
ports to produce a greater range of frequency. One rotor produces
460 cycles per second, and the other produces 920.
All exposed siren components are of zinc plated, steel construc-
tion, which are “powder coated” for the most durable finish available.
The fan and housing are made of non-corrosive cast aluminum.
Maximum diameter of the siren is 78" (198.1 cm), maximum height
is 65" (165.1 cm), and the maximum mounting base is 19" (48.3
cm) square. Shipping weight of the siren alone is 600 lbs (272.2 kg).

The Edwards EWS-V7 Series is large enough to tackle almost any
application. Taking advantage of a continuous duty industrial motor
and rated at 124 dB, the EWS-V7 is an omni-directional siren which
produces continuous 360° coverage, making it a superior alternative
to a directional beam type siren.
The EWS-V7 is available in either single or three phase power, and
is a dual tone siren, employing two rotors with different numbers of
ports to produce a greater range of frequency. One rotor produces
460 cycles per second, and the other produces 920 cycles per sec-
ond. All exposed siren components are of metal construction, which
are “powder coated” for the most durable finish available. The fan
and housing are made of non-corrosive cast aluminum. Maximum
diameter is 78" (198.1 cm), maximum height is 56" (142.2 cm), and
the maximum mounting base dimension is 19" (48.3 cm) square.
Shipping weight of the siren alone is 750 lbs (340.2 kg).
