Karem Hoffman

Jaime is the next secretary of Kay Club for the 2015-2016

school. She works incredibly hard to be an active member of

our club.. Karen has even made it a point to attend a few dis-

trict conventions. This spring she will be heading to Seattle for

DECON along with four other new officers. We are glad to

have her as a part of our club!

Future Events

DECON

Spring is coming up! We all know what that means… DE-

CON! After a successful election, we elected five new

officers to take our places. The new officers are…

Magdalena Maziarz—President

Jared Ramirez– Vice President

Karen Hoffman– Secretary

Ethan Holz– Treasurer

Mikenzie Cissell– Public Relations

We wish them well at their first DECON experience.!

Relay for Life

Every May, Lake Stevens High School Hosts Relay for Life

on the track field. Many people come from all around to

walk or run to help out victims of cancer. This year Key

Club will have their own team. We are looking into sell-

ing home baked items and using the revenue to help fund

future club projects.

Christmas Tree Lighting

As the holidays approached, kids all around Lake

Stevens begged their parents to take them to see

Santa. Every year the town hosts a tree lighting

ceremony coupled with tasty treats and fun activi-

ties. Many children got the chance to tell Santa

about their holiday wishes. Key club members

worked diligently to ensure the children were en-

tertained at the coloring center, and helped with

clean up as well.

Giving Tree The giving tree was a major part of our

holiday season. Every year key club members

work together writing up children’s wishes on

a tag to be hung on the Christmas tree. Lots

of help is needed to promote the event, and

sort through the various gifts to make sure

the event is a success. Thanks to all of our

members, we were able to make Christmas

better for a lot of families..

Thanksgiving Baskets

Recently , our parent organization, the Kiwanis ,

worked on delivering food baskets to many families

around Lake Stevens. The members who attended

got to witness first hand how good it feels to help

out a family in need. Afterwards the Kiwanis

members treated everyone to a free breakfast at the

Buzz Inn steakhouse.
