Gerald is the proud owner of Young G’s Barbecue Sauce, based out of Waterloo, Iowa.

During his time in Afghanistan, he told four of his fellow soldiers that if he made it back home, he would start his own business using his family’s secret recipe.

With the help of his trustee, the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, Gerald took out a $2,000 Kiva Zip loan…

…to purchase a new computer and new parts and labor for his service truck.

He has now repaid 67% of his loan to his 32 lenders, on time.

To-date, they have saved over 8,000 tires, and provided jobs to over 40 Balinese artisans.

Kyle took out a $5,000 Kiva Zip loan in 2012, paid it back on time, and then took out a $10,000 loan in October.

…and crowdfunded by 349 lenders from around the world.

Kyle was endorsed by his trustee, long-time Kiva lender, Justin Curzi…
