Kitchen/family room makeover Project Images with Details Various views of 1100 sq ft area Part of a 1250 sq ft renovation: complete design job also included butlers’ pantry and laundry Goal for kitchen; to add as much storage as possible within existing footprint for a busy family cook and integrate it with a French inspired design motif. Added kitchen features include warming oven, ice maker, second disposal and wall oven . Goal for family room; to improve flow ,maximize seating , incorporate updated TV that could be hidden when not in use, add a beverage center. Family room has 16’ ceiling and kitchen elevation is 8’. They are contiguous spaces with a knee wall between. Original kitchen and family room were removed to walls. Original fireplace was removed and gas insert supplied along with new stone mantel. Finishes include custom glazed plaster throughout, new 16” porcelain floors laid on diagonal, hand cut subway tile backsplash with custom designed mosaic insert, all new lighting, furnishings, custom window treatments and accessories. Colors were kept light. New features in kitchen; extended island, desk with storage bookcase, rebuilt pantry with new doors and inserts, added 10’5”’ of additional custom cabinetry, many specialized pull outs, new granite countertops, hanging fixtures and under - cabinet lighting throughout. New features in family room; dry bar, AV storage and added 14’ high built out fireplace wall with panel and architectural ornamentation, TV remote panel component. Electronics cabinet and bookcase, 16” ornamental frieze connects with dry bar.
