Total Time required: 25 minutes

Introduction

Below are step by step instructions for updating the firmware of your Kiosk. Please familiarize yourself first by reading through the entire process before attempting the upgrade. Please use the authorization letter enclosed if required.

Equipment Provided

This update includes: (1) Data Collection USB drive per store.

(1) System Upgrade Compact Flash card

to be retained by installer until all updates have been completed.

(1) Presentation Upgrade USB drive to be retained by installer until all updates have been completed.

(1) Key for Kiosk door

Before Beginning

Check the front of the screen to see if the Kiosk is running.

• If yes, start at “Extract Consumer Interactive Data” on page 2.

• If no, start at “Upgrade Operating System” on page 4.

Extract Consumer Interactive Data

Total Time required: 2 minutes

1) Unlock the rear door of the Kiosk to access the CPU and USB ports.

2) While the Kiosk is running, insert the Data Collection USB drive in the open USB port.

3) On the front of the screen you will see:

4) When the “SAFE TO REMOVE HARDWARE” message appears in the bottom right corner of the

screen, remove the Data Collection USB drive.

5) Write the store number on the USB drive.

6) Save the USB drive to be returned to Trans World Marketing in the supplied envelope.

Upgrade Operating System

Total Time required: 17 minutes

1) If the rear door of the Kiosk has not already been opened, unlock the door to access the CPU and

Compact Flash slot.

2) If the Kiosk is running, power down the Kiosk by pressing the power button.

Once the power is off unplug the Kiosk from the AC side of the transformer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Even though the power is off the CPU still has voltage applied unless the unit is unplugged. Compact Flash cards should not be changed unless the unit is unplugged from power.

3) Remove the LG Info Touch presentation USB drive from the back of the Kiosk.

Remove the foam tape (that was attached to the thumb drive during shipping) and apply the

“V3-NTFS” label to the back of the LG Info Touch USB drive. This USB drive will be used in upcoming steps.

4) Insert the system Upgrade CF card.

5) Plug in the Kiosk power cord. The Kiosk should power on automatically.

6) The upgrade should begin automatically and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. After the

upgrade the system will return to the Unix command shell. Watch the front of the computer monitor for progress.

Wait until you see “System Halted” at the bottom of the screen.

Power down the Kiosk by pressing the power button.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important that you use the power button to prevent data corruption. 7) Once the power is off unplug the Kiosk.

8) Remove the system Upgrade CF card. (Retain this drive for next install.)

9) Insert the LG Info Touch presentation USB drive. (This is the USB drive that you previously

labeled “V3-NTFS”.)

10) Plug in the Kiosk power cord. The Kiosk should power on automatically.

For the next 2 steps:

DO NOT TOUCH OK Windows will automatically reboot

DO NOT TOUCH OK The system will automatically shutdown, and Windows will automatically reboot again

DO NOT TOUCH OK

11) Set screen calibration by holding the “X” in each corner of the screen until it stops blinking. 12) The Kiosk will next ask you to set the Date, Time and Time Zone for the Kiosk’s location.

TOUCH OK to launch the Time and Date Control Panel.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the touch screen calibration is not accurate, unplug the Kiosk and re-start the “Upgrade Operating System” procedure on page 4.

Use touch screen to set the Date, Time and Time Zone.

TOUCH OK to save the settings when complete.

The system will now automatically Lock the configuration, Shutdown, Reboot Windows and Start the original Presentation.

Upgrade Presentation Content

Total Time required: 4 minutes

The Presentation Content can be upgraded while the Kiosk is running.

1) Insert the Presentation Upgrade USB drive into the available USB port in the back of the Kiosk.

2) Wait approximately 30 seconds.

3) On the front of the screen you will see:

4) On the front of the screen you will see:

Select the button that is appropriate for your store. The program will update the content. Be patient, this process will take approximately 2 minutes.

5) When the “SAFE TO REMOVE HARDWARE” message appears in the bottom right corner of the

screen, remove the Presentation Upgrade USB drive. (Retain this drive for next install.)

6) Double “tap” the Presentation1 icon on the left side of the screen to launch the presentation.

Take the Presentation Upgrade USB drive with you to your next installation and return it to Trans World Marketing in the supplied envelope when all store updates are complete.

Follow Up

Total Time required: 2 minutes

1) Apply the “I’m a V3 Machine” label to the inside of the rear door

2) Close and lock the rear door.

3) Apply the “DO NOT UNPLUG” label to the power cord where it enters the Kiosk.

4) Apply the cable tie clip provided to the rear door of the Kiosk as shown. Strap the power cord to the door.

5) Apply the cable tie clip provided to the transformer. Strap the AC power cord to the transformer.

Your LG Info Touch Kiosk update is now complete

Please return the following items in the self-addressed and postage prepaid envelope provided:

• All Data Collection USB drives with Store # written on label • System Upgrade Compact Flash card • Presentation Upgrade USB drive • Kiosk key • All Completed Questionnaires with Store # filled in

Seal envelope and drop in the mail.
