Having spent a number of years working at schools across the Blacktown Learning Community, it’s incredibly exciting to have been appointed to a school with the sterling reputation that Kings Langley PS has across the entire district. While it has only been a few days since I officially commenced, I have been blown away by the warm and welcoming response of the entire school community. Students, parents and the staff have all gone out of their way to say hello to the new ‘Forever’ Principal, and I already feel as though I am a part of this great school. The one thing that has really stood out to me over the first few days has been that the students, your children, are clearly at the epicentre of everything that happens within this school, and that reflects the dedication and commitment of the amazing staff that I now have the pleasure of working with. To make my first few days at Kings Langley PS even more special, I was privileged to hear about the hard work of Max and Kaitlyn W, who have been volunteering as part of the Kids Giving Back program. Max and Kaitlyn prepared and served scones to a group of elderly people, and spent time interacting with them, taking part in trivia and other games together. They also worked together to assemble care packs for Project Youth, an organisation that supports teenagers in need. Great deeds like these, coupled with the huge number of students receiving awards at the 3-6 Assembly on Monday, just goes to show how amazing our students are. Finally, can I also take this opportunity to personally thank Mr Fisher-Hoad for the exceptional job he did while relieving in the role for Term 3. The work he completed in a relatively short space of time is astounding and Kings Langley Public School was certainly lucky to have had such an unreal Relieving Principal. WORLD VISION - SPONSOR A CHILD NO HOMEWORK WEEK 2018
A huge thank you goes to all students, parents and teachers who supported our annual ‘No Homework Week’ last term. The amount raised of $1260 was a wonderful effort and enough to support 2 sponsored children through World Vision for next year.
Thank you for your support.
NEW Junior Band 2019
TRY NIGHT & INFORMATION ~ Thursday 25 October, 6:30pm in the Library
The ‘TRY NIGHT’ is the only opportunity that interested students have to be able to have a try out on the
instruments that they are interested in. We have tutors and instruments on hand to help guide students and
parents towards selecting the right instruments.
Both of these evenings are highly informative and are crucial components in our selection process for Junior Band
2019, and as such are compulsory. Please put these dates on your calendar now and plan to be there!

DEBATING NEWS - KLPS has had a successful year in debating. Our school were Zone winners in the Premier’s
Debating Competition. We were defeated in a close elimination debate against Blacktown South PS.
The team were also winners of our division in the Blacktown District Debating Competition. We have a semi final debate on
Monday against Beaumont Hills PS. The topic of the debate is “Play is as Important as Study”. We are the affirmative team.
The students in the debating team are wonderful ambassadors for our school. They give up their lunchtimes and eagerly
research to prepare for debates.
On behalf of Mrs Sirohi and Miss Andrews I would like to congratulate these hard working representatives of our school.

Friday 7th December 2018 - 11am till 1pm
Year 6 will be holding their annual Mini Fete to raise money for
their gift to the school. For this, we ask students to bring some
money so they can participate in the activities organised. The
activities are 50c and there is a wide variety of activities for the
students to enjoy. Some of these include the commando course,
soccer challenge, water pistol squirting, a disco, nail and hair
dressing, a photo booth and many more. There will also be a
White Elephant Stall equipped with pre-loved toys
and books.
There will be food stalls running on the day and
the students will be able to purchase cakes, cans
of drink and a sausage sizzle ( a separate note for
sausage sizzle orders will be distributed shortly).
This is a call for donations for raffle prizes and nail polish, bags of
wrapped lollies, hair spray (coloured), balloons or anything that
you feel we could use. For the White Elephant Stall, we are
asking for donations of new or used books, Lego, toys, dress ups,
cars, small games, board games etc (Anything that is suitable for
K-6 students). Please forward all donations to any Year 6 wet
area.
Thanking you in advance!
