Therefore,  if  anyone  is  in  Christ,  he  is  a  new  crea2on.  The  old  has  passed  away;  behold,  the  new  has  come.  All  this  is  from  God,  who  through  Christ  reconciled  us  to  himself  and  gave  us  the  ministry  of  reconcilia2on;  that  is,  in  Christ  God  was  reconciling  the  world  to  himself,  not  coun2ng  their  trespasses  against  them,  and  entrus2ng  to  us  the  message  of  reconcilia2on.

Therefore,  we  are  ambassadors  for  Christ,  God  making  his  appeal  through  us.  We  implore  you  on  behalf  of  Christ,  be  reconciled  to  God.  For  our  sake  he  made  him  to  be  sin  who  knew  no  sin,  so  that  in  him  we  might  become  the  righteousness  of  God.

The  saying  is  trustworthy:  If  anyone  aspires  to  the  office  of  overseer,  he  desires  a  noble  task.  Therefore  an  overseer  must  be  above  reproach,  the  husband  of  one  wife,  sober-‐minded,  self-‐controlled,  respectable,  hospitable,  able  to  teach,  not  a  drunkard,  not  violent  but  gentle,  not  quarrelsome,  not  a  lover  of  money.  He  must  manage  his  own  household  well,  with  all  dignity  keeping  his  children  submissive,

for  if  someone  does  not  know  how  to  manage  his  own  household,  how  will  he  care  for  God's  church?  He  must  not  be  a  recent  convert,  or  he  may  become  puffed  up  with  conceit  and  fall  into  the  condemna2on  of  the  devil.  Moreover,  he  must  be  well  thought  of  by  outsiders,  so  that  he  may  not  fall  into  disgrace,  into  a  snare  of  the  devil.

All  of  these  were  men  of  Asher,  heads  of  fathers'  houses,  approved,  mighty  warriors,  chiefs  of  the  princes.  Their  number  enrolled  by  genealogies,  for  service  in  war,  was  26,000  men.
