Methanogens•They can live without oxygen•They produce methane

Halophiles•They adapt in very salty environments•Colony indicates orange or yellow color
Thermophiles• They can live in places with high temperature like:• Volcanic Hot Springs (80 to 110 °C)• Hydrothermal Vents
• They turn hydrogen sulfide (H2S) into food to provide nutrients
Some members of archaebacteria also survive acidic and even cold environments.
