FIRE DRILL INFORMATION

Several tenants have expressed concerns, primar-ily security related, about the proposed change to evacuate three floors down as presented at our fire warden meetings in April. Based on this feedback, tenants will be required to completely evacuate the building and report to their respective meeting areas, as has been done in the past. Lincoln Centre’s Fire Safety Procedures and the Evacuation Map are located at www.MyLincolnCentre.com.

The fire drill for Three Lincoln Centre will occur on Wednesday, June 3, weather permitting. Fire drills for One and Two Lincoln Centre will be scheduled later this year.

This special exhibit, Baseball: America’s Presidents, America’s Pastime, explores American his-tory through the close relationship between baseball and our Presidents. During good times and bad, presidents have connected with this uniquely American sport. Just as George W. Bush attended a World Series game after 9/11, Herbert Hoover attended the World Series in 1929 and 1931 to calm fears during the Great Depression. Harry S. Truman used the sport to return the Nation to a sense of normalcy. He threw out the first pitch at a game six days after Japan surrendered on September 2, 1945. His presence meant the war was over and peace had returned. In telling this important piece of our history, the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is using baseball-related documents and artifacts from its archives as well as from other presidential libraries. The exhibit also draws from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, and other collections.

A NEW FAMILY AT LINCOLN CENTRE

Several weeks ago, it was noticed that a new

family of Canada geese had arrived at Lin-

coln Centre. The most identifying mark on

the Canada goose is the white cheek patch,

or chin strap. The Canada goose’s head, bill,

and neck are black except for this white cheek

patch. The father is not pictured here, but he

is always close by.

The Canada goose is very majestic be-

cause of its size, markings, graceful move-

ment, and its well-known devotion to its

mate and family. Canada geese are very loyal

and emotional towards each other, and they

mate for life. They have strong family values;

a mate will put itself in danger to protect

their mate, and parents will also place them-

selves in danger to protect the young.

It has been brought to our attention that

tenants are feeding the geese, and this is not

recommended. Certain wildlife agencies ad-

vise against feeding the wildlife. They claim

that we will do them more harm than good.

They also state that feeding the geese will cre-

ate a depency on us for food, causing them

to lose the ability to forage and delaying their

migration.

It is fun to have the diversity of wildlife

at Lincoln Centre, and to be able to walk

around the lake or just to view it from the

office. The lovely grounds at Lincoln Centre

bring some serenity to a busy work day.

BICYCLE PARKINGIt is that time of the year when some of the tenants choose to ride their bicycles to work. For the convenience of parking bikes here at Lincoln Centre, there is a secured bicycle stor-age area on the black level (2nd level) of Three Lincoln Centre Executive Parking Garage. This area is secured with a combination lock. In order to park your bike in this area, a Bicycle Agreement Form needs to be turned in to the Management Office. At that time you will be given the code for entering the secured area. Call 972.980.9700 to request a form.
