Kineton Parish Council Foreword by David Gosling

ForewordWelcome to Kineton’s first DirectoryWhen the Parish Council began to think about developing this listing we initially considered it as a brochure to inform new residents about all the great facilities and services that there are here, on our doorsteps.

As the project progressed we realised that there was benefit to many more than just new families and so the remit was widened.

We looked outside the village to see what other communities were offering; our particular thanks are due to Wellesbourne Parish Council for sharing their model with us.

Whilst the heart of this community is solid, which makes Kineton such a great place to live and work, this directory will almost inevitably be an ongoing commitment since nothing stands still in Kineton.

If you have any suggestions for things that should be in future issues please let us know. In the meantime if you are reading this as a new resident in Kineton, welcome; if you are reading it as someone who has lived here for many years, I hope you find something of interest.

I would like to thank the Parish Council’s Clerk who has turned the Councillors’ idea into reality, and all those who have been involved in the distribution through every letterbox in Kineton and Little Kineton. I would also like to thank the local small businesses and other advertisers whose contributions have ensured that the costs of production are as small as possible.

After a record breaking 2017, we look forward to welcoming you to our 6th Kineton Music festival.

Most of all, it’s about celebrating summer in a relaxed, friendly and community based environment, while raising funds for our charities.

Our primary local charities are The Warwickshire Air Ambulance Service and Myton Hospice. We believe that the work of these excellent organisations is essential to our local

community, so it is with great pleasure that we are able, with your help, to hand over thousands of pounds of the proceeds of KMF ticket sales every year.
