Kill Macbeth - Macduff character

Macduff

•Thane of Fife

•First to become suspicious of Macbeth being the murderer

•Has to fight his way through to finally kill Macbeth

•Experienced dueller

•Helps lead an army to Macbeth’s castle to overthrow him

•His family have been killed by Macbeth

So why Macduff?

•Game through his point of view as opposed to Macbeth because he ‘wins’ in the end

•Not as developed a character as Macbeth in the play so there is more scope developing the character

•There is also more variety in the tasks that he completes – leading army, duelling, etc – so more room for developing it into a diverse game

How does Macduff fit into the game’s themes?

•He is one of the main ‘goodies’ in the game.•He fits in well as a man of action with the themes of good vs evil, perhaps revenge, justice being served and restoring balance to society.•Has many action scenes of the play – too many slow paced scenes would be difficult to make into an action game.
