Motivation and Goal
The Wikimedia Foundation, and its associated Chapters support the volunteers
“the community” in sharing knowledge via projects like Wikipedia,
Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons and other projects by providing infrastructure like
servers, databases, network access, and organisational support.
Volunteers, user groups, projects, organisations and communities are independent but
share the same goal, mission, objectives, and resources.
