School Mind vs. Home Mind

Similarities Differences• Awareness of physiological needs

(senses, elimination, hunger, sleep) • Relationships are important to kids

in both environments.• Financial stress can impact a kid’s

mind at school and home.• Fun is always important to a kid’s

mind.• Some passions remain in kid’s

minds in both environments.

• The school mind is more focused on school than a kid’s home mind.

• The home mind is more focused on the individual.

• Kids have increased responsibility at home (chores, extracurricular activities, homework).

• A kid’s home mind is generally more well-rounded.

• Home thoughts are more personal. (puberty, personal interests)
