We keep track of percentages. Our manufacturing and storage areas are equipped with the latest technology for humidity control and we maintain a relative air humidity in these areas of 37%. We fully recognise the need to have 100% of our production made with humidity-controlled raw materials.

As part of our service to our customers, we offer value-added processing; for example drilling, CNC, lacquering, painting and fire-retardant wood. The ability to offer such a wide range of services strengthens further our competitiveness.

Wood is a unique material that has been and will always be one of our main building materials. The properties of wood vary among different wood species; renewable, living, natural beauty, the list goes on and can be summarised in one word, solid wood. We have learned to take advantage of wood’s characteristics and to use its excellent properties in order to manufacture perfect end products.

Norrhult is a small town on the road between Växjö and Vetlanda in the heart of the forested region of Småland province in southern Sweden. It was here that an idea became a reality and the beginning of a wood manufacturing business took shape. Starting in 1951, the initial main product was planed, round pieces of pine that were used to produce broom handles. Since its inception the development of the company has been rapid and KG List is now Sweden’s leading manufacturer of hardwood edge-glued panels. Long experience in the industry, combined with a series of strategic decisions has resulted in a modern and efficient wood manufacturing business.

Planing specialists

Gluing

We have four gluing press lines each with different specifications. We glue a wide range of panels. The advantages of our edge-glued panels are their high quality and superior colour-matching. Through extensive experience, combined with production-friendly technology and skilled personnel, we manufacture excellent edge-glued panels.

Our production line includes nine ultra-modern planing machines which together enable us to offer a very wide range of planing. Our planes are custom-made and equipped with automatic feeding and stacking. The heart of our business is our tool department. Here we use the latest CNC technology and have pre-programmed our planes to reduce changeover times and maximize their availability for production. In the tool room we sharpen blades and cutters using two CNC tool grinders.

Components and skirting

All of our products include some form of solid wood. Our main specialty is hard- wood products but we also work with knotted and knot-free pine. We constantly seek opportunities for using new types of wood and always listen to the requirements of our customers.

Components and skirting are a wide range of products that consists of furniture components, moldings as well as planed and glued components. Thanks to our flexible production we can efficiently manufacture products with unique qualities

and characteristics. We also offer valued-added processing of our products which strengthens our competitiveness.

Edge-glued panels

Three-layer and multi-layer panels

Edge-glued panel production is driven by our customers’ requirements. The quality of the edge-glued panels is determined by the selection of raw materials and can vary from full stave to finger-jointed. MDF composite board is a product which has a core of edge-glued pine which is then bonded with one or more layers of MDF.

Three-layer edge glued panels are the perfect material for those who need inherently-rigid, solid wood panels. This product is used primarily for frameless doors and panels in kitchens, bathrooms and interiors. Table tops, furniture and shelving are other applications where three-layer and other multi-layer panels are often used because of their inherent stability. Demand is high and three-layer panels are now our largest single product range.
