Apart from his acclaimed work as an art director for many high-pro-file photography projects, Daniel’s fashion, beauty, sports, and still life shots have been published in several top international magazines such as Italian Vogue and Marie Claire. Daniel is the second son of Mkhitarian-educated Armenian architect Simon Kevorkian and his Italian wife, Emanuelita Vecchio, a former scholar at the prestigious Accademia della Crusca.
After many years honing his skills in drawing, Daniel discov-ered the art of photography at the age of 18. His passion for the medium drove him to learn as much as possible. He spent many hours experimenting, shoot-ing, and developing film – often in secret, so as not to stir the disapproval of his parents, who thought photography was only a passing hobby. “I often used to install the enlarger and all the equipment in my small bedroom as soon as my parents went to bed,” Daniel recalls.
“In the morning, I would go to school leaving my room full of photographic paper hanging from clothes pegs. It was an enchanting time for me. I still remember that time of discovery as a magical period, especially when the la-tent image would appear on the paper as I plunged it into the developing acid.”
Daniel describes photography as a way of allowing him to view things in a new way and opening up a new and thrilling world for him. “
