How is technology affecting the learning process?

Page 5: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Technology expedites the learning process. Using technology, such as power points and websites, makes note taking and research tasks easier.

Page 6: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Technology greatly affects the learning process. Kids respond to the technology and love the opportunity to use technology themselves.

When you hear the phrase “technology integration”, what does that mean to you?

Page 8: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Technology will be used in the classroom.

Page 9: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Technology will be used while teaching a specific concept. The technology being used should help the student learn what is being taught.

If you were in charge of designing the modern classroom, what would it look like?

Page 11: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

It would be technology centered. A projector, Promethean Board, and students would have notebook computers instead of textbooks.

Page 12: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

The classroom would have to include a Promethean Board and netbooks for the students to use.

Are you happy with the level of technology used at your school?

Page 14: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Yes. Classes at Carrollton High School use technology frequently.

Page 15: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Somewhat. It seems that some classrooms have tons of technology, while others have very little—if any.

Page 16: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Has technology changed the way you work in your classrooms and has it changed your assignments?

Page 17: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Yes. We actually use laptops in math. We type essays, create power points, and create videos. We even dissect frogs digitally in Biology.

Page 18: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Do you feel that integration of technology into classrooms has had a positive impact?

Page 19: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

The impact has definitely been positive. Technology allows students to be more involved in the learning process.

Page 20: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Absolutely—kids really respond to the use of technology.

Page 21: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

Can you provide any recommendations to improve access to and use of technology?

Page 22: Keri A. Driver MEDT 8461

The only recommendation I have is to use technology in more areas!
