Project Objective• The overall objective of the project is to
improve the living condition of the refugees and the host community and promote collaboration between them in the conservation, and rehabilitation of the environment in refugee hosting area.
• It is envisaged that with an improved and stable environment, there will be less conflict and ill feeling between the host and the refugee community.
MANDATE AREAS
• Afforestation – Production and distribution of tree seedlings
• Firewood supply and distribution,• Stoves production and distribution • Voluntary repatriation (currently not ongoing)
• Backyard agriculture (Kitchen gardening &MSG)
Household Energy Management
Household energy (Fuel Wood) conservation measures are promoted by the project through the distribution of energy saving stoves and construction of mud stoves.
Energy saving practices is demonstrated to the communities in public meetings.
The use of energy saving devices and energy saving methods contributes to efficient fuel wood utilization in the camp.
