ThePanthersalsoprotectedtheirhomewinningstreak,increasingitto48games. Osborne'sproducedoneofhismostsuccesfulseasonasaPantherin2016.KWCcompileda27-4record,includingtheirfirsteverGreatMidwestAthleticConferenceTournamentChampionship.OsbornealsoledKWCtoaregularseasonG-MACtitlewitha11-1slate.ThePanthersalsomadeanappearance into theNCAATournament forthefirsttimesincethe2012-2013season.HeledthePantherstoaperfect19-0recordattheSportscenter. The2014-15seasonsawKWCposta22-8overallrecord,a10-4slategoodforsecondintheGreatMidwestAthleticConferenceregularseasonandasecondplaceintheG-MACChampionship. Inhisfirstyear,Osbornewent22-9includingwinning21ofthelast25games.ThePanthersendedupsecondintheG-MACregularseasonwitha12-2markandmadetheG-MACChampionshipgame. Prior tocomingtoKWC,Osbornewasthe formerheadcoachatNAIApowerhouseGeorgetownCollegefor15years, Osbornecompileda456-84recordfora.844winningpercentage,anaverageof30.4winsperseason,wheretheTigersmadetheNAIAChampionshipTournamenteveryyear. Hewonover25-plusgamesall15yearsincludingcollectingeight30-pluswinseasons.Hewon100gamesand400gamesquickerthananyothercoach,accordingtocollegerecords. Osborne,57,alsowonthemosttournamentgamesofanycoachinNAIAbasketballhistorywitha29-13record. HeledtheTigerstoa32-5recordandtheFabFour,theNAIAnationalsemifinals,in2010-11. OsbornehaswononeNAIAChampionship(1998),finishednationalrunner-uponce(2000),reachedtheFabFourfourtimes(2003,2004,2008,2011),thefinaleightonce(2005)andtheroundofSweetSixteenfivetimes(1997,1999,2001,2002)inhistenure. HisGeorgetownteamswererankedintheTop25inthefinalpollall15seasons.TheTigersfinishedNo.1twiceandplacedintheTop10ninetimeswithfourinthesecondten. Forhisaccomplishments,OsbornereceivedboththeNAIANationalCoachoftheYearandBasketballTimesNationalCoachoftheYearAwardin1998. He receivedMid-SouthConferenceCoachof theYearfive times(2002,2004,2007,2008,and2009). Osbornecoached14All-Americanshonored22timesand40All-Mid-SouthConferenceselections includingfivePlayersof theYearandoneFreshmanoftheYear. Intheclassroom,10student-athletesearnedAcademicAll-Mid-SouthConferencehonors23timesandsixreceivedAll-AmericanScholar-Athleterecognitioneighttimes.
Overall,89percentofhisstudent-athletesgraduatedduringhis15yearsatGeorgetown. HewastheactingheadcoachforGeorgetownduringthe1995-96season takingover for thenheadcoachJimReidduringhisbattlewith cancer.He guided theTigers to a 36-3 record and theNAIAChampionshipgame. OsbornebeganhistenureatGeorgetownasanassistantcoachin1980,servingfor14yearsbeforebeingpromotedtotheheadpositionin1996. ThenativeofLynch,Ky.,leftGeorgetowninAugust,2011tobecomeanassociateheadcoachatTennesseeTechUniversityforoneseasonbeforereturningbacktothestate. Osborne spent the 2012-13 season as the head coach at MontgomeryCountyHighSchoolinMountSterling,Ky.,whereheledthe Indians their best season in history with a 33-5 record and the state championshipsemifinals. His18-yearcombinedcollegiateandhighschoolrecordtotals533winsand106lossesforan83.4winningpercentage. HestartedhiscoachingcareerservingasastudentassistantatbothPikevilleCollege(1975-76)andMoreheadState(1978-80). OsbornegraduatedfromMoreheadStateUniversityin1980withabachelor’sdegreeinGovernmentandPublicAffairs.Hereceivedhismaster’sineducationfromGeorgetownin1982.
