WORD FROM THE CHAIRMAN: The Kentucky Airborne is proud to announce that we are hosting the 70th Annual 82nd Airborne Divisions National Convention, in conjunction with the 82nd Airborne Division Association, Inc. Attached you will find a registration form for the convention. Room reservation are made separately from convention registration, and can be made using the phone number or internet link listed below. Please pass this along to any trooper that you know. The convention is open to all members of the 82nd Airborne Division Association or Active 82nd Airborne Division Troopers. Also we would like to invite any Glidermen or paratroopers’ active or in-active that wish to attend as or guest. If you are not a member of our Association just fill out the registration form and put yourself down as a guest. The 82nd Airborne Division Association is open to all personnel that have earned their jump wings, or Glider badge. We would like to congratulate Vice-Chairman Laurie Clay on her election as a National Director of the 82 nd Airborne Division Association. Laurie is the first female paratrooper to be elected to the Board, and the first female appointed to the Executive Board. WORD FROM THE CHAPLAIN: The internet and applications like Facebook have changed our culture dramatically. They have allowed us to reach out and garner huge amounts of information with little effort. Facebook has allowed us to stay in touch with friends on a daily basis. One of the downsides of these inventions though is the ability to reach out and say things to people that we don’t know in ways that we probably wouldn’t practice if we were talking with them face to face. Rude and crude seems to be a response now if you don’t agree with something that someone says online. Name calling and attack seem to be expected. My observation is that these
