Responsibilities of the Franchisee

• Showroom will be operated by the franchisee.

• Showroom will be owned / rented by the franchisee.

• Area of the showroom should be min. 250 sq.ft. to 500 sq.ft. or above.

• Location – Main / prominent market and a good location in the market.

• Franchisee will do all the interiors as per the design provided by Kent

(Cost of the interiors will be paid back by Kent in 36 equal installments).

• Franchisee should have sufficient stock of all the products to offer for sale

off the shelf.

Responsibilities of the Franchisee (contd)

• Franchisee should actively participate in the enterprise to ensure the

targeted sale. He should have the capacity to monitor the sales

people.

• Franchisee should ensure a godown adjoining the store or at any

another convenient location to stock the goods.

• Products to be marketed and displayed at the showroom.

• Franchisee will sell directly to the customers only & will not get

involved in any distribution.

• Franchisee will sell only KENT brand and will not display or sell any

other product other than the KENT branded products.

Responsibilities of Kent

• Kent will provide backlit dealer boards.• Kent will provide product dummies (where ever feasible) or

products for display at 50% concession.• In-shop promoter & 2-3 sales executives will be provided by Kent.

The in-shop promoter will give demonstrations in the shop and sales executives will do direct marketing & visit customers as well.

• Name of the shoppé will be advertised in all print media and newspapers.

• Kent may forward all incoming enquiries from that area to the franchisee.

• Servicing will be provided by Kent or authorized dealers. Alternatively, a technician will be provided, (management of the technician to be done by the franchisee).

• Installation will be provided by a Kent authorized representative. Alternatively, cost of one installation specialist will be provided by Kent.

Performance Expectations

• KENT expects the showroom to do a minimum sale of Rs.10 lakhs per month of all products put together, which is likely to go upto Rs.15 lakhs and above by the end of 1st year.

Profitability

• There is approx 20% margin for the franchisee. On a sale of Rs.10 lakhs per month, a margin of Rs.2 lakhs per month will accrue. Net profit after rent / operating expenses will be in the range of Rs.1 lakh per month to begin with and is likely to grow further.

Servicing And Installation

• The service & installation will be done by Kent but if the franchisee so desires, the same can be provided by him and Kent can reimburse a fixed amount for the same. In this business model, the franchisee will earn from the sale of spares as well as servicing income in future.

Expected Investment

• The franchisee is required to bear the entire cost of interior designing.

• The cost is expected to be Rs. 1200/- per sq.ft. amounting to around

• Rs. 5 lakhs. This cost will be reimbursed to the franchisee in 36 EMIs by Kent.

• Sales will be on cash and carry basis.• Franchisee is required to invest an amount ranging between

Rs. 5-10 lakhs to maintain the adequate stock.

Conditions of operations

The Franchisee is required to undertake to do the following: • To personally supervise and monitor the staff and operate the

showroom.• To provide and utilize a showroom for exclusive use of Kent

products only.• To bear the entire running cost of the shop.• To maintain adequate stock of Kent products. • To maintain a separate godown near the shoppé or at a convenient

location.• To operate the shop for a minimum period of 36 months from the

date of operation.• To follow all the rules and regulations of the Kent Shoppé.• To sell directly to consumers only and not distribute Kent's

products to retailers/resellers.
