The class of 2015 is on their way out and the class of 2019 is on their way in. Goodbye and good luck seniors and HELLO incoming 9 th graders. Welcome to the Royal family. We are down to our final 7 days (seniors) and our last 11.5 days for our 9-11 th graders. Time will fly by so it is critical that we remain focused through the end of the year. Even though the end of the year is near, it is not completely over. It is critical that ALL students step it up and finish their academic year strong. It is time to check your grades more frequently, study harder and use your time more wisely. Finals and EOCs are just around the corner, are you ready? At this time all students, with the exception of a few special cases, have been scheduled for next year. We hope that all students’ schedules will go live for student and teacher review the end of next week (June 12). There will be a short window for students and families to review the schedule and then, if needed make any schedule changes at that time. Fortunately, next year KM will see very little change in its teaching staff. Unfortunately we are losing a couple teachers due to career moves, and retirement, nothing that can be public information at this time though. Thank you to all our students, families, and our staff for a great 14-15 school year. I would also like to thank our graduating seniors for their contribution to Kent-Meridian over the past four years. You have made a lasting impression on our school. Thank you staff for all your support and hard work to make the 14-15 school year a successful one. Have a wonderful, safe summer. SUMMER SCHOOL AT KM KM will again host Summer School this year. Summer school will begin June 29- Aug. 6. Summer school sessions will run from 8:30am to 11:30 am and again from 12pm to 3pm. It will all be computer based using the Edgenuity program. Registration deadline is June 12, 2015, and student enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. A letter grade is given if the half credit is earned. The cost of summer school is FREE. But with the FREEdom of being in summer school comes a contract that requires regular attendance and constant forward progression on their online course(s). Maintaining daily attendance is important for a successful learning experience. Students are not allowed more than three absences. Please consult with your student’s teachers and counselor on summer school placement decisions. Call 253-373-4079 to speak to your student’s counselor today. Kent School District Nutritional Services will be running a free lunch program here at KM to coincide with our summer school days. ATTENTION SENIORS In order to graduate next month and walk in the commencement ceremony, ALL graduation requirements must be completed.
