MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. SERVICE This year's Shabbat service at which we honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a most memorable occasion for all who attended. Thankfully the weather was pleasant, which enabled many of our congregants and members of the community to attend. Everyone who shared in the service was moved by Roy Innis' remarks, by Cantor Averbakh's music and especially by her duet with Karen Elkind that concluded the evening. We are also grateful to the Rev. Hugo Rey, Pastor of Clair Memorial United Methodist Church, for his contribution to the service and to the Church's choir for their musical . selections. Special thanks to Eleanor Bouer and Sarah Wendell for arranging the Oneg Shabbat and to our caretaker, Monica Zarate for adding her unique creative flair to the Onego This year's service truly fulfilled the goal set by Rabbi Berman, Morris Pes41.and Milton yottlieb, all ofbles~ memory, when they instituted this annual commemoration. It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome the community into our sanctuary and to hear a meaningful message, presented by an individual who is keeping the dream of Dr. King alive among us.
Temple Office Notice The Temple office will be closed on Monday, February 18,. 2002 in observance of Presidents' Day.
