THE PROJECT
What: A personal web portfolio/resume.
Goal: To provide and information base of
my work and experience to inform future
employers of my skills, desires and past
experiences.
WHY?
As our society transitions from using
print mediums to one that embraces
the web, online resumes are becoming
more popular and in most cases
preferred.
Potential visitors will be possible future
employers, so the point of viewing my
web page will be to inform and provide
materials that they need to be able to
make an accurate evaluation.

others to just view my work.

would like to include.
I would also like to use a slideshow for my

interactive features.
WEBSITE
MARKETING PLAN
Since I am only marketing to future employers I used email
and a job search site to promote my website.
Through email I have emailed job applications along with a
cover letter. In the application I attach a resume and on
that resume I have my website link.
For marketing this, each recipient gets a little different
message depending on the job description. Because I
have many interest, I have applied to a variety of fields.
The message is straight forward for each potential
employer. I promote my skills & experience in seeking a
job.
The second place my website is being promoted is through
an online job search site called internships.com. This
sight makes it easier for me to submit to different
internships/jobs while also promoting my resume for
potential employers to see.
Why email and a job search site?
I chose email and a job search site as my main
means of marketing because of the content of
my website. My audience is future employers
and the best way to get their attention is
through a direct email or job site.
The purpose of this website is to show employers
my work and experience. I do this mainly when I
am applying for a job/internship or searching
for one.
RESULTS:
General overview of the interaction for the month of November.
RESULTS
Unique visitors
Out of the 9 views I got, 5 of them were unique visitors. Given I have applied to
around 7 places, I am hoping that some of these 5 are from potential employers.
Audience Analytics:
Most of my views came from Midland, my hometown. This can be partly because
my family is there. Another reason is that I have applied to a few jobs back home
for a position after graduation. Its nice to see some interaction from cities such
as Austin and Dallas.
CONCLUSION
I feel like I got about the amount of traffic I was
expecting with this project. Because I have
such a narrow audience with who I was
targeting, I was surprised to see that some of
my page views came from Dallas, a place where
I applied for a future job. It was also nice to see
that the bounce rate wasn’t that high, around
11%, so that shows me that the people who are
visiting are actually staying for some time, and
that’s what its all about.
MOVING FORWARD
Facebook & Twitter: I wasn’t really sure how to promote my
personal resume on social media at the beginning. I felt like it
would be odd to post my resume on my twitter to all of my
friends. But the more I thought about it, using my content to
push the message will be a great way for me to expand on my
page views. Instead of just promoting to potential employers
alone, I can push my content just for the sake of sharing
content. Through that, I believe I will find more success with
page views.
LinkedIn: Get one!! This seems like a great self promoting
opportunity, so I will definitely take time to create and promote
myself through this outlet as well.
THANK YOU!
