Certification UPDATE Summer ‘07 Keeping BONENT Members Informed Spring 2018 Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology An Information-Packed Regional Seminar in San Francisco! If you missed the BONENT Regional Education Seminar on April 22nd at the Marriott Airport San Francisco, you missed a lot of great information! There was a Clinical and a Bio-Med track that provided attendees 8 continuing education credits toward their recertification. The seminar opened with a great presentation by Joe Sala on “Professionalism and the Role of the Technician”. Joe started his career as a patient care technician and is now Administrator of Ambulatory Care for a hospital system. It was great to hear that there is no limit if you are willing to reach for your dreams. The final speaker was Troyce Crucchiola who has been a kidney patient for over 30 years. He gave talk on “How important the clinical and bio-med staff are to the patients.” Other topics included in the Clinical track included: • End Organ Stunning • Infection Prevention • Emergency Preparedness • Education and a New Way to Treat Anemia. The Bio-Med technicians heard about: • Biomed A-Z: Tips Learned Over 25 Years of Biomed Service • Machine Alarms - What’s All the Noise About, Electrical Safety Testing • RO Troubleshooting Make sure you attend either of our next two 2018 BONENT Regional Education Seminars. They are in Chicago IL on June 10, 2018 and in Newark NJ, on August 19, 2018. See the ad on page 4. • You can become a member of one of BONENT Committees (the most active are education, examination and legislative).
