KDH NIJ Standard 0101.06 Ballistic SystemsBallistic Resistance of Body Armor NIJ Standard-0101.06 is an NIJ (National Institute of Justice) Standard that establishes minimum performance requirements and test methods for the ballistic resistance of personal body armor protecting the torso area. The standard is limited to ballistic resistance only and does not address resistance from knives or other sharply pointed objects.

KDH NIJ Standard 0115.00 Stab Resistant Body ArmorNIJ Standard-0115.00 establishes minimum performance requirements and test methodology for body armor that is designed to protect the torso against stab and slash weapons. Based on KDH’s TRC Expanded, the Firearms Instructor load-bearing vest is designed specifically as an outer carrier that will quickly and easily accommodate your KDH concealable vest armor panels. Featuring a bright red carrier, this is the perfect system for high visibility on the shoot-ing range or low visibility on the two-way range of high threat call outs.

The vest offers covert protection to FIRE/RESCUE/EMS personnel in the form of “hiding in plain sight.” The ability to enter a high threat area where uneducated media repeatedly give away your movements or clandestine spotters lie in wait within the crowd can prove difficult when your appearance says “threat.” The innocuous red coloring of this vest allows heavily armored support personnel or cleverly disguised tactical operators to move freely and render aid without raising the eyebrows of the media or worse…

The ATPC-SPEAR System is the culmination of 4 years of research and development with the U.S. Air Force – Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The ballistic shape used in the ATPC-SPEAR is based on the U.S. Special Operations SPEAR shaped ballistic panels. The SPEAR ballistic shape is a battle proven design that combines ballistic coverage and operator mobility, which are two phrases that normally oppose one another.

In addition to the many standard features of the ATPC-SPEAR, it can also be used with the KDH CORELOAD™ weight reduction system. The CORELOAD™ allows the weight of the vest to be moved from the shoulders to the hips similar to that of an alpine backpack. By using a padded MOLLE belt coupled with a semi-rigid spinal insert the CORELOAD™ distributes the weight of the vest affording the operator the sense of carrying a lesser load. The CORELOAD™ is the analogous solution to the question “which one is heavier, a pound of lead or a pound of foam?” One feels heavier than the other due to its concentrated surface area. With CORELOAD™, the overall weight of a tac vest is spread out across the strongest parts of the musculature thus creating a faster operating vest that fights fatigue while giving superb ballistic coverage.

KDH CORELOAD™ Load Management System

One of the most advanced, feature packed plate carriers on the market today, KDH Defense Systems has combined years of combat data to create a solution to the requirements that have been presented by the Department of Defense. Fully adjustable, padded, scalable and comfortable are just a few words to describe this system. The carrier has an armor compartment with a rear reinforced ABS plastic spine that distributes the load better than any carrier in its class. The ATPC-Standard can be used as a stand-alone plate carrier or a fully up-armored tactical vest.

KDH CORELOAD™ is an integral load management system that effectively controls and redistributes the weight of armor and equipment resulting in improved user comfort and performance.

The foundation of the CORELOAD™ System was developed in a broad research program using Human Factors Engineering principles in conjunction with real world testing. Prototype iterations were refined based on both operator feedback and scientific testing using a custom designed full torso pressure mapping system. The ultimate design is a patented, robust, lightweight system with quantifiable performance.

The CORELOAD™ System utilizes an ergonomically designed padded hip-belt to anchor and control the weight of armor and gear, reducing pressure on the wearer’s shoulders. The Magnum TAC-II (MTAC-II) is the Generation II of the Soldier Plate Carrier System currently in use by the U.S. Army. The SPCS (originally called the MTAC-I) was developed by KDH Defense Systems for the Army and is currently issued to all combat troops in Afghanistan (over 60,000 units). MOBILE DEFENSE SHIELD

The Mobile Defense Shield was designed primarily as a hand-held defensive tool and has proven to be useful in a variety of roles. With the modern officer being required to carry more kit in their ever-shrinking patrol cars, the MDS offers the perfect solution for field expedient ballistic shield deployment. It is small enough when rolled up to sit on the passen-ger side floor board. The USMC Improved Modular Tactical Vest (IMTV) is the new U.S. Marine Corps vest system. It consists of a cummerbund style main vest with groin, lower back and neck/throat protection. The system is designed to allow the Marine to scale the system up or down dependent upon mission requirements. The SPCS - Soldier Plate Carrier System is the current U.S. Army Plate Carrier System currently issued to all combat troops in Afghanistan (over 60,000 units). Following lengthy review, field evaluations and analysis, the U.S. Army chose the KDH model Magnum TAC-1 system over all other competitor’s designs as a result of the following key factors: (1) weight and comfort, (2) ballistic performance, and (3) delivery schedule. The ATPC-SPEAR System is the culmination of 4 years of research and development with the U.S. Air Force – Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The ballistic shape used in the ATPC-SPEAR is based on the U.S. Special Operations SPEAR shaped ballistic panels. The SPEAR ballistic shape is a battle proven design that combines ballistic coverage and operator mobility, which are two phrases that normally oppose one another.

In addition to the many standard features of the ATPC-SPEAR, it can also be used with the KDH CORELOAD™ weight reduction system. The CORELOAD™ allows the weight of the vest to be moved from the shoulders to the hips similar to that of an alpine backpack. By using a padded MOLLE belt coupled with a semi-rigid spinal insert the CORELOAD™ distributes the weight of the vest affording the operator the sense of carrying a lesser load. One of the most advanced, feature packed plate carriers on the market today, KDH Defense Systems has combined years of combat data to create a solution to the requirements that have been presented by the Department of Defense. Fully adjustable, padded, scalable and comfortable are just a few words to describe this system. KDH CORELOAD™ is an integral load management system that effectively controls and redistributes the weight of armor and equipment resulting in improved user comfort and performance.

The foundation of the CORELOAD™ System was developed in a broad research program using Human Factors Engineering principles in conjunction with real world testing. Prototype iterations were refined based on both operator feedback and scientific testing using a custom designed full torso pressure mapping system. The ultimate design is a patented, robust, lightweight system with quantifiable performance.

The CORELOAD™ System utilizes an ergonomically designed padded hip-belt to anchor and control the weight of armor and gear, reducing pressure on the wearer’s shoulders. The hip-belt is connected to the vest using a lightweight internal skeleton offering load support with strategically located articulation points ensuring low profile and maximum flexibility.

In addition to the load bearing elements, CORELOAD™ also incorporates an adjustment system that allows the user to change the vest fit on-the-fly without removing the vest to ensure optimum fit and eliminate bouncing and shifting. The CTRC – Concealable Tactical Response Carrier is designed as a low-profile ballistic carrier to provide both concealable and outer tac-tical applications. The CTRC is equipped with both front and back top load plate pockets that can be manufactured to fit both military and law enforcement specified plates. The CTRC is the perfect middle ground for those LE tactical units that aren’t in need of supplemental armor components but need tactical vest coverage in a cost effective package. Sometimes “high speed low drag” is what your mandate calls for. If all you’re looking for is the ability to load up with panels, plates, and pouches then the CTRC is for you.
