Maximum payload 700 kgIncorporating a compact profile design with long reach and high wrist torque
The “M series” – this powerful robot developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a pioneer of industrial robot manufacture, has a maximum payload of 700 kg. Its superior design gives it the power to lift and manipulate heavy loads with great ease and high accuracy. Its Profile is compact through use of an advanced link structure in JT3 for up and down arm movement. Using advanced design techniques in motor technology, the unit has achieved a high wrist torque.
The “M series” robots are ideal for lifting engines, manipulating car bodies, handling of large tools between processes in the automotive field, the handling of large castings, rocks, construction materials, and large domestic appliances in the general industrial field.

Features
Four models are available: MX700N and MX500N (max. payload 700 and 500 kg) with a max. reach of 2,540 mm. The MX420L (max. payload of 420 kg) with an extended arm of 250mm, and the MX350L (max. payload of 350kg) with an extended arm of 500mm.MX500N, 420L and 350L are convertible retrospectively. In addition, a shelf mounting type MT400N and palletizing robots, MD400N/500N are also available.
With collision detection and vibration suppression control software the robot can manipulate large loads smoothly and safely. In addition, mechanical stoppers and limit switches are provided as options for the major axes.
A high wrist torque of 5,488 N·m has been achieved with the MX700N robot by utilising the high power motors, normally only used in the major axes, across all 6 robot axes. This enables the rated payload to be carried at a significant offset from the wrist flange surface.
High payload robots conventionaly require a large counterbalance weight which increases interference and reduces the work envelope. Innovative design of an advanced link structure (patent pending) by Kawasaki has reduced interference and increased work envelope by eliminating the function of this redundant counterbalance.

Specifications
The E-Controller, with unprecedented quality and compact size, was created in response to customer demand.Kawasaki’s collaboration of past achievements and experience has lead to the development of the most technically advanced controller available. This industry leading design provides increased performance and easy operation that exceeds expectations.
1. CompactBy reducing the controller’s footprint and overall volume, high-density layouts are more easily achieved.
2. User-friendly operation systemThe operation system has now fully matured into a more user-friendly design. An operator can switch on the motors and activate the cycle start all from the teach pendant, allowing for a more convenient system control. Two information screens can be displayed simultaneously, providing access to different types of information (for example, positional information and signal information).
3. An abundance of functionsA large variety of unique functions support a wide range of applications. These functions can be combined and easily configured into a system to suit a particular application. With the Kawasaki "AS Language", which is equipped standard, you have sophisticated robot motion and sequence control.
4. Using the latest technologiesThe enhanced CPU capacity has resulted in more accurate trajectory control, faster program execution, and quicker saving and loading of files, as well as other advantages. In addition, the memory has been expanded to allow for higher program storage capacity. A USB port is available as a standard external storage conduit.
5. Easier maintenanceWith modular components and fewer cables, Kawasaki has developed a controller that is compact, and easy to maintain. A host of maintenance functions are available, including the DIAG function for self-diagnostics, a maintenance support function that can handle not only hardware errors but also application errors, a Web server that allows remote diagnostics, and more.
6. Highly expandableWith an additional amplifier installed the system can accept up to two external axes, and adding an expansion board enables the system to control up to sixteen external axes. The system is compatible with a large number of field buses for controlling peripheral devices. The Kawasaki KLogic software sequencer function, which can be edited on the teach pendant, can be combined with user-customizable interface panels to achieve a highly sophisticated system.
