VILLADesign of an independnt villa for a family of 4. The site is situated in the city of Varansi. Varanasi is aituated in the hot & humid climatic belt of India. To belt of India. To counter this, the house has large overhangs to provide shade and wall with high thermal capacity.

The villa is for a family of four and consists of three bedrooms, two living areas, a kitchen, a dining area, a swimming pool and servants quarters. servants quarters. The villa is a duplex concrete structure with large curtain walls towards the north & south. The pool is projected

out over the garden below to shade the landscape below and drive humidity away from the interiors. The enterance is through a large shaded a large shaded porch which frames the foliage behind, a spiral staircase visible from the enterance is used as an accent element.
