What is a smartphone?
A smartphone is a mobile phone with an operating system.

Early years
Theodore G. Paraskevakos
• First conceptualized by Theodore G. Paraskevakos in 1971 and patented in 1973
• Offered for sale beginning in 1993.
• Were called PDA – Personal Digital Assistant.
Forerunners
The Simon was the first cellular device that can be properly referred to as a "smartphone", although it wasn't called a smartphone in 1994.
The term "smart phone" appeared in 1995, for describing AT&T's "PhoneWriter Communicator" as a "smart phone".
Mass Adoption
• In 1999 NTT Docomo released the first smartphones to achieve mass adoption.
• These phones ran on i-mode, which provided data transmission speeds up to 9.6 kbit/s.
• An estimated 40 million subscribers by the end of 2001.
• Outside of Japan smartphones were still a rare feature.

Organising work:First we made a facebook group, then we split up the jobs evenly, then we colaborated and helped eachotherto complete the individual tasks.
Benefits:We all learned more about smartphones and how to work better in groups.
Opinion on the module
It‘s very useful to learn how to make a website and work with programs like mathcad.There should be more modules that teach things with practical application.
