Our mission is to promote responsible use of Alberta’s Southern Rockies and

to ensure the conservation of our wilderness areas for the continued use

of future generations.

Bridging improvements reduce the impact of increasing usage. The main objectives are to lesson disturbances of watercourses, provide non-destructive repair and maintenance to crossings, prevent run off and seepage on the trails from entering watercourses, and

provide long term effective trail management for the benefit of all users. We believe that through education of users, and an effective trail system, we can encourage users to stay on the trails and be more responsible in the forest which in turn contributes to the well being of both the user and the landscape.

The ongoing education component of our organization in conjunction with other user groups is important to the success of our efforts. We focus on riparian damage

avoidance and repair as a result of multi use in these areas. We partner with industry, user organizations, land managers and loca

l municipalities to focus on water crossings and drainage problems and the development of a recognized trail system.

At the Quad Squad stewardship consists of an ethos of conduct, advocacy, programs and projects to promote the responsible use and conservation of limited natural resources in a

way that takes full and balanced account of the interests of wildlife, society and future generations, and we accept significant answerability to society.

Stewardship is a strong component of our club. It is practiced throughout the year in many forms and manners. Many people practice stewardship every day and do not even notice they are doing it. Stopping to pick up a piece of garbage, clearing debris off a trail in the back country, pausing to allow animals to wander in front of you

or allowing others to proceed on a trail that you are using are all examples. Sharing,

protecting and enjoying the back country are requirements of all that partake of its infinite wonders. Leading by example and teaching our children the privileges that nature has

to offer us are becoming common amongst all users.
