Karl Blossfeldt

Karl Blossfeldt was inspired by nature and the way in which plants grow. He was impressed by the abstract shapes and structure in nature. Blossfeldt edited his photo’s in black and white to reveal microscopic detail to exploit the image.

I used dry, organic objects and a close-up view in order to create detailed photographs and they have black and white filters to mimic Blossfeldt’s work. I cropped both images to focus on the area I felt gave a great perspective. In both images the foreground is sharp and the background becomes blurry, especially the top image.
